Well,

hello everyone. This is what I came up with after getting a little bit into modelling. I am a beginnger and therefor looking for advice and maybe even a little guidance. ^^

The model isn't finished. It is rough and not yet cleaned up, but I felt that the overall shape is quite visible.

So, here it goes.

Looks nice. However, without kusari wings, it looks too much junker-ish, in my opinion.

It looks good, I hope you're willing to texture it once you get the model done.

as for the wings I find them unnecessary, ship can be kusari even if it doesn't look like mythical cave dragon

It's a nice, good looking design, although it has a few extra poly's, thus the relatively higher poly count than what you'd get with a more 'economical' approach.

It's very good for a first try though.

I am glad you guys like it so far. About the wings. A "mythical cave dragon". :laugh:I didn't think that I overdid it and to me it sounds like a compliment anyway. Maybe I will give it a try and "slay" that dragon though.

That my model could possible have a junker-ish look to it never occured to me. Fascinating how 2 poeople can look at exactly the same thing and yet achieve to perceive a totally different nature. Beautiful isn't it? :yahoo:

Regarding the polycount. Once it is cleaned up the polycount should have dropped noticeable.

Texturing is planned. Also I can't say when I will be confident in my results. Since I've never done that.


That replacements for the imports should have priority over new models makes sense to me. Maybe I will give that a try too. But for now it is the "unknown" that's calling for me. :crazy:

Nice work there.

Keep in mind that the ship list for 4.86 has been completed and that there are no changes planned for it, as far as I know.

This is what the Dev's have said previously.

However, that probably doesn't mean that the Dev's aren't willing to look at the ship as addition/replacement at some point in the future.

I think your Kusari Freighter model looks really great!

There's nothing detestable from my point of view ... it would make a perfect Kusari large freighter that shows evolved designs (which is in a way necessary for Discovery ^^ ) from the vanilla Kusari freighter!

Stick to your model, make it fit for 4.87 (if the 4.86 list is really already finished) or a possible patch! Don't let this beauty get wasted on your hard drive ^^

I can tell by looking at the model there are several issues with the mesh that may cause some issues when viewed in-game. Primarily with the cockpit, you can clearly see from the wireframe that the mesh around the cockpit is not connected to the rest of the mesh. This can cause some problems in-game, so you should try as much as possible to make the ship one single mesh.

Hogosha!

Hogosha (again)!

Hogosha MPC use the CSV fromt he Junkers, vanilla like, and they kick out all the junkers, this, when finsihsed could be a good replacement, as the Hogosha base-ship, it looks kusarian and still a lot like the junker ship.

Ok the hogosha have the black dragon, but that could be a farmers ship as well, with something like this and collector stats on it, kusari would get a new class of ships, and ad some diversaty.
