All right, good sirs and ladies of DC,

As having played DC for quite a time now(not including the months spent with Vanilla), I have noticed, that the Sirius Sector, albeit having an incredibly rich of history and faction lore, lacks a thing which, in my opinion is essential for a technical civilization of such: properly explored systems.
Now that may sound absolutely strange - it takes an average of 30 seconds for the average player to find the map of the Sector on wiki - but in fact, it is true: we've all seen inhabited planets, and after a time, it is unavoidable to notice the tedious monotonity of them: either planets not being explored properly yet due to a nearby conflict, or "research probes having crashed on initial survey attempts", hence no further discovery being made.
I have to say, I'm quite dissapointed with this situation: hence, I'm describing my plan on RP-ing a character/smaller research team(Think about the X-Shuttles theoretical ability to conduct atmospherical research, or house small research teams).
The following
My plan is, the main character of the research would be myself - a kind of rogue scientist like Roland Quintaine or Kendra Sinclair, but initially, more affiliated with where his foundings came from - after all, he is a nearly fresh graduate, with basically no reputation in the scientific community, having to find his own funds and renome. I'd be flying under a Researcher ID, exploring space nearby the aforementioned uninhabited planets in vessels theoretically capable of reaching the atmosphere. While staying mostly peaceful and neutral, I'd write RP-based articles to the Wiki, strictly following the initial information provided by infocards, and the additional roleplay built upon to these planets by factions interested in the location of the area.

So,people, any suggestions, advices, how-to-starts? I'm more than willing to listen to any kinds of tips.

As I already told you, the idea is pretty good. While some parts of Discovery Universe are pretty much described, most of it is full of blank pages. Filling them won't hurt, but will bring us more environment to play in. The mod is called Discovery, so you are welcome to discover.

And then to enlarge, enlarge the wiki articles.

nice idea, but would be cooler if you could make it involve Planetform so that in a sense your research leads to new terraforming experiments

// Well, that is quite ironic since my main character is a member of the NLH:)//

Well, about Planetform involvement, it would be, I think, barely possible. As I had in mind, the research group would try to stay both politically and ideologically - hence, I would not like to start the team as an already corporate-affiliated group/individual, more like pioneer(s) wanting to discover new planets/explore existing ones for the sake of science and discovery itself.

On the other hand, my results would be published to everyone, via the wiki - individual Planetform RPing would be the groups own choice.

Very nice idea:)As sadtranslation said, Discovery is indeed made to expand the universe. Adding such RP to the wiki would be wonderful, and hopefully make many of the uninhabited planets/sectors interesting.

My only concern with this idea, is it might contradict ideas or plans devs may have for the future development of planets (if any exist).

If it was admin/dev approved, I think it would be an epic win.

Either way, it's a great idea. Sirius is so full of interesting things, yet so many of them aren't described in great detail.

If you'd be interested in some help, let me know, as I've often thought about creating a researcher character, but wasn't really sure what to do with it. You can only harvest alien organisms and artifacts for so long.

Thanks for the tips(yours and others), I have thought about seeking admin/dev approval, so I'll do it. Perhaps some of the broadened infocards could even make it to 4. 86:)
About your offer in taking part, I'd appreciate it. I will l add you on Skype/ send a PM to work out details.

Good luck with this venture and I am looking forward to what you can do with it.
