Right, so, I have more than a few ships for each of my characters.
I get away with it by switching up my formatting...so, like,
[QCO]Sam.Windsor and [QCO]Samantha.Windsor
[QCP]Juno.Kietan and [QCP]Juno-Kietan
Now, I have heard, that there is an invisible character, something like the C, that would allow my displayed character names to be
[QCP]Juno.Kietan and [QCP]Juno.Kietan
in essence, appear exactly the same, for my bombers, and my hussar, and my templar.
Once there was a hack attack on the server deleting all chars on some accounts... Mine was deleted too. Admins restored backups.
When I started playing Disco, my first char was Epholl. Then, in BSG, it got renamed to =BSG=Tatran.
But I wanted to be able to be invited from distance, so I deleted the char and made a new one, =BSG=Tatran too.
Back to the hack attack: After admins restored the backups, I noticed 2 ships named =BSG=Tatran. The old one and the new one. Now, they both are deleted (And I have =CR=Tatran:)).
If it is possible to have 2 or more characters with the EXACT same name, I will be SO happy, because it is the only way I'll have more than 1 ship under that "character" For example, with my QCO. I would not want Oliver.Pellew and Oliver_Pellew. But Oliver.Pellew and Oliver.Pellew would be alot better if I had one as a fighter and one as a bomber.
I have no idea about any other ways how to od this.
I know two guys who have two same-name ships, but I didnt ask them how did they do it. Probably the way I mentioned above.
You're not allowed to create a character with characters that cannot be typed out on a generic keyboard. Meaning only English characters and punctuation. No invisible characters or little boxes. Makes it impossible for the admins to find your character, at times.
