Hi guys. I had a Idea a few seconds ago. So basically, I'm writing a RP for a character and for the RP to work it requires me to make a new location on Planet Manhattan. A new area on the planet. And i was thinking, "you know what would be excellent, is if we could make these locations and put them onto the wiki for RP purposes. That way people can link their RP to other people and so poeple can have a better way to relate to each other. Also, if someone says they are from.... say... The Daishan-Bu district on Planet Manhattan you would know he's from a Kusarian, run down and generally bad area of Manhattan. Just for example of course." So Basically the idea is to create locations on the planets or stations in game and give them a story and a picture on the Wiki so people know more about them.

So tell me what you think of the Idea.

Sounds like a good idea:)I think because it is Manhattan public places based on rl Manhattan could be used but in a totally new light - i.e. "Central Park". But that sounds good, we can use this thread to start on it if you wish. In my character's RP I have put "New Danube" as a river, but yeh I totally think it'd be good if it could be incorporated here on the forums so people can RP their character in a certain spot.

Well it could work, but people can always make up their own names for ficitonal places. One of my chars for example, was born in Piedras Blancas island, a fictional island from planet Crete that I made up. And I made the Daumann space-ports in several Rheinland planets all with different purposes and features merely for RP. Adding every single fictional place made by players would clog the wiki with information that is not really necessary. I would gladly add description of my made up locations though

I'm not saying we add everyone's Fictional places as more than 90% of these will have descriptions 2 sentences long. I'm saying that if we create locations and really add a lot of detail to these locations, Such as in the RP story i'm doing the character spends most of his time in this Daishan-Bu district. Eventually just from the story about the character you would have enough information to have a really clear picture of what the place is and what it's like.

If we could take places like that and put them on the wiki, then RP between characters on the Forum and IN game could change immensely as the Characters can now possibly relate to each other as well as the fact that since the one person knows where the other is from he can change his RP to include it, Eg, instead of corsair from crete e have corsair from Special rich island on Crete, thereby making the other party in the RP think he is possibly rich and very stuck up.. Also, i have difficulty at times coming up with story's so if other people did the same with these locations I would be able to draw from their Ideas and also set my RP in their locations.

Frankly it just seems like a good idea.

Sounds good to me, and may I suggest a few location ideas, like a starport, good place to meet people of other sirius nationalities , an intercity starport, a good place to meeet people who were previously in a different area, a repair yard, where people can discusss matters with their ships, a district full of corporate offices, where faction business can be held, a heavy industries area that nobody goes to apart from people who work there or are doing dirty deals and possibly some residential areas where people can go to other peoples houses to discuss personal matters. Of course, many of these can be put on one planet, feel free to use them, I have no copyright on them or anything like that. :)

I remember planet Denver having it's capital city mentioned either on the wiki or the game infocard. Can't remember.

I could see areas of interest being added to the existing wiki pages. For example, on the page for Planet Manhattan create a heading for notable regions. Like what was already said, many role play regions are described in brief so there is no need to create new pages for this idea.
