I was wondering who here plays guitar. :)

I have been playing for about 8 and a half years now, and I'm still lovin' it!

I play mostly blues guitar, fast smooth colourful guitar licks makes everyone melt in the crowd.(I'm not full of myself or anything :P)

Any who, if anyone at all is...err, at all interested, I would be happy to write up some basic to intermediate to advanced guitar licks. For beginners and advanced players (obviously) Blues licks are the best to learn, as every kind of guitar based licks where based of blues in the beginning, especially rock and metal. So if you want to play heavy metal guitar, I suggest you try blues and classical guitar first. :)

So speak up:D I want to share what I have learned! ;)

Cheers

I've been playing guitar for 2 years.

Here is the proof. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...p;hl=bar+gospel

For some reason I got myself a classical guitar, still using the same one. Although playing various styles, even rock. I know it sounds weird on classicla guitar, but... Have to try something new, right? I do suck at singing but playing guitar is just refreshing for me.:)

I just started playing guitar a while ago. I decided to pick up guitar because my friend tried to convince me to join his band, but they got a better guitarist, and I became keyboardist, so I am just learning for the sake of learning now.

I own an acoustic, and am currently trying to learn House of the Rising Sun.

I've been playing for 3-4 years, self taught. Never had a lesson in my life.
I practice almost daily, and i've got a few pretty impressive songs under wraps. I cant play from music really, I gotta learn stuff and play by heart, which Is why it takes me so long to make progress.

This is probably one of the most impressive songs I can play, which I learned pretty early on, but is still my best. I normally play it around 4 times as fast though.
Clicky

I own a rather pathetic electric, but im more of an acoustic person, so much so that I havent used a plectrum in over a year.
And I can play House of the Rising Sun elagto! One of my all-time favourites to play. It's relatively easy once its in your head, based around simple chords and a plucking pattern, and its really relaxing for player and listener.

Probably the best place to find a lesson on how to play it IMO, a song every acoustic guitarist should know by heart, it's a very rewarding one to learn.

I've been playing guitar for 15 years now (i just added that up, i kinda can't believe its been that long?!) Used to spend a lot of time playing, gigging and touring around the east coast of Australia, also used to work in a guitar shop!:)

Don't do it so much now, but i have guitars in Australia and where i live in china... managed to scrape together some nice ones, more by luck than anything else, guitarists never have any money!

I toyed around with an acoustic guitar for some two years. Not really studying, but simply playing tunes, learning some chord positions and rhythm.

Last year I started taking lessons on the electric guitar and I love it. Though some three or four months ago Freelancer has stole my soul and my guitar practicing time was seriously impaired by my Freelancer playing. Anyway, I'm liking it better than the acoustic, I mean, bends, hammer ons, pull offs, it's just incredible what you can do. Not that I think one is actually better than the other, each has its place and purpose, but I amuse myself much more with the electric guitar.

I've got a bass, but I'm still waiting to get around to learning how to play. Picked up the White Stripe Seven Nation Army riff pretty quickly a few months ago, but have forgotten it by now.

Gotta get my ass in gear and learn properly.

What amazes me is that Jack White gets that sound from his guitar with a whammy pedal.

We should start a Discovery Skype band. Guitar+Space... Reminds me of the Silverhawks.
