What the title said. It's a pretty sad fact that Kusari has barely any activity.

It's a beautiful house, it has a great lore, great factions and many, many great opportunities for Roleplay. There's something for everyone, the KNF for the Naval forces loving, KSP for the police loving, the blood dragons are a great faction as well, with a great lore etc. Then we have the Hogosha, some shady dudes hiding behind their legal appearance, but pulling off dirty business behind the law's back. Then we have the farmers, which I'm personally not attracted to, but that's just me. The Chrysanthemums, another pretty unique faction with own goals.

There's really something for everyone. Now, why does it lack activity ? It's simple. Kusari doesn't have fancy trade-routes, thus less pirates, and less lawfuls since they have less to do. Less lawfuls means less to do for the Kusari unlawful factions. Also, mining. There's not a single profitable mining spot throughout Kusari, which has the same effect as the lack of good trade-routes. It's a vicious cycle.

I'm sure Kusari is a rather hard house to integrate in, but once you are a little bit familiar with the lore, and the factions around, it's such a great place to play in. I'm sure that's not only what I think, but many of the people actually having characters in Kusari, which are rarely played because of this lack of activity.

Now, how about the devs change -something- to make Kusari live ? Gas mining ? Some good trade routes/mining spots ?

Discuss.

Well, you saw and commented on my brainstorming idea of the liberty airforce but instead, going to start the Kusarian Air Self-Defence Force, and one thing the faction I will be starting tonight will do that is unique is have a rule that a pilot may never retreat from a pvp situation. So it is like 'fight to the death', copying ww2 Japanese guriella fighting and the group will have squadrons has I said on the LAF.

Gas mining's been discussed, and there have been numerous proposals however I don't believe a finite decision has been made. The implementation process is likely to be very difficult anyhow. Mining... Well IRP Kusari's meant to be mined out anyway, though I suppose we could shove in a new system.

Trade routes? Here's an unbalanced one...

Optronics from Planet Honshu to Kabuchiko Depot. From there, fly to New Tokyo and buy Robotic Components and ship them back to Planet Honshu. If you're Hogosha, you might want to take Artifacts from Kabuchiko to Tokyo for a little extra pocket money.

Only profitable in-1-house route I know.
Unfortunately, there are limited characters in which you could actually do this one. Samura/Hogosha/FA would do I suppose, though some seem to claim that Optronics are soley Kishiro-made items. I personally use a Hogosha ship, seeing as they're not as strictly bound to Samura as the FA are, and I don't see any problem with it. 617profit per run on the way there, 425 on the way back. Considering it's length (2 systems, 5-6 tradelanes?) It's pretty good.

But anyway, this route opens up opportunities for more Blood Dragon/GC/Other activities. I'm sure there are still profitable routes between Kusari-Bretonia.

Trading-stuffs aside, I would like to /sign this. Kusari is such a great place, its a real shame that it's so inactive.

Or the players could work toward removing the embargo on trade which is ruining Kusari trade even further?

That sounds like an interim solution.

What they said. Kusari has been forced into isolation and hence inactivity due to the actions of fellow houses, something along the lines of what you have mentioned should be done.

Activity in Kusari is on same level as in Bretonia without mining in Dublin.

Well I know the recent stir-up with the GMG and Kusari has spiked Kusari activity a bit. Not much, but hey, at least I have someone to shoot now.

Also: Unless you're a Blood Dragon or KNF/Hogosha, then you're pretty much royally screwed in a pvp fight.

Thanks for the input so far, and yes, I agree with the point that Kusari is pretty much forced into isolation, which is a sad thing, since Kusari, in my opinion, has the best lore and factions of all houses.

Don't really play in Bretonia, so I can't quite tell. But back when mining was still the most profitable thing to do, Bretonia/Dublin was very active, which had its good and bad sides. But the point is that activity as a whole is a good thing, despite the bad things that may come of it.
