After reading Carlos Benitez post here:
http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...1067&st=40#

I've realized that implementing looping trade routes ( both clockwise and anti-clockwise for different commodities ) going around Sirius would solve quite a few issues that people were having, particularly on the RP server.

1. Less boring for traders: They get a "tour" all over Sirius while getting the maximum profit at the same time

2. Trade routes looping around Sirius would encourage greater trader/pirate/police/military activity in almost all parts of Sirius ( instead of people taking the lazy routes that lead to NY ).
See this post by Dab for a simple explanation:
http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...1067&st=40#

3. Reduce the amount of camping ( eg Pirates camping the same old route that loads of traders use )

I think that implementing trade routes that loop through outer systems would greatly benefit everyone and encourage more diverse role-play.

Here's a rough little diagram to represent general trade route direction ( NY is in the centre )

A good way to balance this is to make the inner trade routes safer ( closer to house systems ) but less profitable and make the outer routes more profitable but more dangerous ( they pass through pirate systems ).

Credits to Carlso Benitez and Dab for their original ideas ;)

Really, its not a problem with these routes lacking, its that most traders are too lazy.
I never get pirated, in part because I avoid the regular routes.

I fly one that takes me from Cambridge to Rheinland to Kusari to Cambridge through all the "borderworlds". Also have another one that goes the other way too. It's proffitable, fun, and you see a LOT of people. People are lazy, they just wnat to make that quick buck to get their cruiser.

100% Agree

As I already said somewhere else we could make a big [SPOILER] thread. Listing where are comodities bought cheap and sold for a lot of money.

Not like listing bases and prices. Just the systems or general area.. example:

Diamonds:
mining area: Rheinland
lowest price: 200 (guessing here)
sought after in: Kusari
best price: 2200 (guessing again)

well i have to say there IS actually many routes that go right around sirius and there IS one very very effective route that goes into newcastle (i am not saying the commodity where you buy it from or why you do it)

hell my brother silent assasin does routes around sirius all the time, he does not ever do back and forth routes its always big loops that usually take about a hour but make a decent buck.

his routes include going through the following areas.

erm uh sirius

Omega, tau, liberty, bretonia, kusari and slight bit of rheinland also.

and ends in omicrons (not saying where or when)

-----------------------

really there are many effective loop trade routes it is just as unselie said people to lazy to

A: do them
B: find them

EDIT: i still voted Yay though, for if one is made (a obvious one) and someone advertised it to all traders making em do it, it would enhance RP in a very nice way.

ok sorry not all traders but you know what i mean

Nah.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the routes are already there. Folks will always find their personal grind if they want too.

The routes are there you just got to be willing to run them...
I make a habbit of running 3 to 5 stop RT.. ya ya most times run not at MAXX proffit but Im a trader and Im not shopping for a BS or Cruiser.
a Trader picks a zone or run and works with whats there, 1k+ per unit Proffit is not allways an option

AND if you had any idea how Difficult to re program and build runns (that WILL wind up being ignored and miss used for that BS) You would probly appoligize for posting this :P

its good that you put some thought inot Boring old Trade as a trader I thank you..

I voted "Yay" as well. I dont know how this could actually be accomplished, but my trade char does get sick of the same old route. I like the Dublin > New Berlin > New Tokyo > Dublin run (left cargos out...you either know what they are or can find out on your own). Its a nice big loop, try it some time...
