Basically what the title is, I'm using MSI afterburner to smash the cooling fan to 100% to bring the temp down during games, but its still high after I cleaned it out.

Help?

Sure, try looking for this cooler over here, it can be installed on a PCI slot > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835888112

Good advice Internity.
But Fletcher, you should take a look at the other components in you PC perhaps something is heating up your GFX-card, perhaps the southbridge chip.

I just read an article where air coolers are a mixed bag that have bricked some, and rarely help GPU's.

My PCI temp is at 50c while card is at 66c with 100% fan speed. Its only recently started to heat up like this.:(

Hm. My Evga GTX460 is running at 45% fan speed, on idle around 35°, 45-60° while gaming depending on the game. And it's summer, my room is very hot usually.

As I said, those values aren't nice, but the 470 gets very hot.

Like it or not....follow my advice or not...but I tell you, a friend of mine owns that cooler I mentioned above and it does wonders for him.

I haven't added a new one but I've got plenty of space in the pci slots, if they take them up. I've never added a new fan before.

EDIT: oh and CPU tmeps are hanging around 40c and the PCB temp is 44c, GPU is at 53c with these temps.
