So, I got the Mafic, and I was wondering if it's any good, I feel that 2 guns and 5 turrets is kind of bleh, but I could be wrong as I think I have **** turret and only my 2 guns are actually decent.

I've also got a question, the shield I have on it is class 10 but it tells me it can only use up to class 8, does that mean if I unmount the shield I won't be able to mount it back?

Good for what? The mafic is equipped with mining machinery, so it is good for support mining, having a higher mining rate than the hegemon. However it is therefore big and bulky, so it is not good for dodging.

If you have equip a SAC it will be good for fending off caps, but no CD and so bad for hunting.

It all depends on what you want it to be good FOR.

On the shield, it can mount class 10 fighter, and I think class 6 freighter.

Mount full Debilators or fulk hullbusters + SNAC to shoot down Capital ships and have chance versus other snubcrafts.

It's fantastic PvP ship if you can aim pretty good with SNAC.

Also, use Class 6 Freighter shields. They are superior to Class 10 Fighters shields.

Thanks for the help, and thinking about it, I don't think I actually have any sort of goal in the game just yet, that may be something I'll have to change.

A Mafic is a mining tool.

Have 2 mining lasers to the front (make sure they have the same distance to the rock) to get the maximum bonus for mining possible in the mod.

The Mafic makes for a good emergency bomber, but cannot compete with "real bombers" because you will spend some turret position for mining. Due to reduced hullbusting capacities, you might hit the shield with Snac, too.

And no: using 2 rear mining turrets is useless. It's so slow that you give away all the advantage of having a small miner, actually.

Mafic is an awesome PvP device...a bit lackluster in group fights, but so is any other bomber. But Mafic can have fighter guns (I always use debs type 1, extra speed really helps) and a SNAC. Not to say freighter shield and gunboat nanobots/shield batteries....awesome

Double hits on the same asteroid => about 20 % higher yield.

seriously? I never heard that, why does that work?

Also whats wrong with 2 turrets on the back? If you use turret view and fly slowly fowards?
