Gratiano Locatelli was born a child of four on planet Crete. He lived a humble, but difficult life struggling to feed his family just as many other Cretans did. While some of his siblings tried to improve matters for the family by getting involved in politics, Gratiano and his expecting wife along with thousands of other Cretans packed up and left for Gran Canaria. Sadly Gratiano arrived on Canaria alone, his wife died in childbrith along with his firstborn son.
After a short while Gratiano moved to Freeport one to better pursue his interest in the peoples and politics of the region. A new arrival was heading for the Freeport, and once he heard the rumors he couldn't wait to meet them. A race of sentient plants had become part of the Zoner community, and having some agricultural experience Gratiano volunteered to help them find their place on the station.
It was while Gratiano was tending to these... "residents" that he began to learn of their ways and culture. Their insatiable desire to spread life, their care-taker instincts towards humans, and their symbiotic capabilities. These creatures, which felt no need to determine a name for their species, brought Gratiano the peace he had longed for all his life.
Now, with his new found strength of will and calmness of heart, he hopes to lead the people of Freeport one out of the storm they face and into a secure future.
