I'm sick and tired of Capships. They are big, overpowered pieces of junk that everyone buys just to have a bigger E-peen. They are illogical and way too big. Have you ever compared the size of the capships to the planets ingame? The capships are so large, and they are made of METAL. Metal is not as easy to find as one might think and the Capships are BIGGER than the planet? That doesn't sit well with me.

Rip them out, or set the cost of them up because all they are is a big annoyance to the people who actually want to take the time out to learn to fight in a snubcraft and give fair and honourable fight to everyone.

I say push the price up for them up to one billion, make it so that only rich factions have them, and make this game better for everyone.

My rant is over now.

Not everyone has a capship.;)

Dimension and sizes are way out of proportion in Freelancer. Interesting to see that you don't want a resized Newark Station which is roughly the same size as a Discovery capship:D

No matter how high up do you attempt to push the price, determined lolwuts will always get the desired toy. It'll just take them a little longer.

It'll be a great annoyance to those non-lolwut people, as well.

P.S. Freelancer was always bad with sizes. Not to mention stationary planets and all.

Ok, First, size scaling in freelancer is completely unreal, we all know it. Compare a fighter to a planet, as example.

I have an alternate decision. Remove snubs and gunboats Leave cruisers and battleships. They don't require you to waste your life on Freelancer to get at least a chance against professional players. And they're almost perfectly balanced towards each other.


P.S. Yes, I'm capwhore, cause I love flying caps. an EDGE capwhore, what makes me even worse in your eyes. An EDGE former russian powerminer capwhore, which probably should make you want to kill me. (although I do usually RP in capships, unless the situation doesn't allow me to, but it's another question).

But I do not go "nerf snubs", or "nerf ganks", after our BS (that was part of an RP convoy) got <strike>ganked</strike> more-friend'ed by 15+ outcasts. I actually enjoyed it. So all I can recommend, is to learn to enjoy life in general and this game in particular. Enemy caps annoy you? Get friends! Get bombers! Swarm the hell out of him/them! (just don't forget to RP inb4 mega more-friend'ed action, k'ay?):cool:


P.S. Forgot important thing. These... fair and honourable fights people are often speaking about.
Unless you're playing sort of a Samurai, it's completely and utterly ooRP. No sane military officer will ever allow himself or his people to do such thing, as go 1x1 against a criminal. I love when people pirating in the House core worlds and then don't like being swarmed by Navy. (especially if we take into account that pirate's RP usually is a violence against those, who can't defend themselves. I'm fine with that, as long as the medal has 2 sides. )
Hint: Connecticut exists not only for training purposes.

Then Make Capships special RP. I don't like them, anyone who actually gives a rats ass about making the game fun for others as well aslo doesn't like them so only give them to people who are going to use them to make the game more fun and realistic instead of 8 tons of pure ganking pulling out of one tiny planet to come and destroy your little fighters.

So we allow how we play to be determined by the masses, simply because the masses chose to be a bunch of capwhoring lolwhuts? That is really smart.

I've found 2 other mods that have no capships and aren't dead nor-dying. Why should this one be any different.

Don't try and make it fun the easy way. If it's no fun without Caps, then let them enjoy in moderation or better yet, find a better way to attract attention without pissing off the people who like it the way things are.

Not that I couldn't see your point, but the earliest date for the implementation of your suggested changes might be within the 4.87 update. So, at least you should have sufficient time debating them. ^^
