I'm struggling to be accepted by the IMG. I really want to earn my IFF with them.
But how do I do it? Can't find any proper IMG missions to take on.

Any help would make me happy. I want to show my father that I'm cut out for this job!

Maximize your IMG rep with IMG missions. You can find IMG missions in all IMG bases.

When you do it, check which faction flashes in your reputation sheet. If it's not IMG use the command /droprep till you are successful. Flashing IMG rep = you have IMG IFF

What ID do you have? We have a tool called Rep Ninja which might automatically set you to hostile. If you have another mining faction's ID, that might be repninjaed hostile. It could explain why you cannot get the faction up.

Otherwise, if you are simply not getting missions, there is a certain reputation threshold where you simply can't get missions from that faction unless you take a bribe first to improve your reputation.

Hope that helps.

Thank you guys!
I'm on a Miner ID (did /restart miner when I first started out).
I guess I just haven't been aboard any IMG bases. I have now looked the up, so I'll take a trip to Dublin or Cambridge.

Any tips on a cheap fighter that'll make this easier?

There are a few fighters around in the mod that are open use. VHFs such as the Eagle or Raven's Talon, or HFs like the Falcon and Switchblade.
Most top-tier fighters will cost from 1 to 2 million credits.

The closest IMG base to Liberty is Freeport 4, Magellan.

There was a sig here, once.

Since you are an IMG, I suggest you to buy a Mining Ship and along with the IMG ID, IMG IFF, and Mining Turret you will get a very good bonus while mining.

Simply by targetting a transport (which is very close to you) while mining (shooting rocks in specified mining fields), you can fill transports with ore and make good money.

Good luck !

Thank you.
Now this is weird... I have a Hegemon, IMG ID, IMG IFF.

I am now in Tau 23, in the mining field (as indicated at the ingame map). But when I target a flying stone and tries to fire with ONLY my Transport Mining Turret, the laser will not fire as long as the stone is in the crosshair... And if I fire with all my lasers there is NO yield... zero.

What am I doing wrong? Why is this?

Sounds like you're mining in external view. The hegemon is big enough that the only rocks you'll see in external view are behind you, and if all your mining lasers are on the front of your ship (as i suspect is the case here), they won't be able to hit the rocks. Easiest fix is to switch to cockpit view.

There is supposed to be no yield if you use non-mining lasers.

Are you sure you mine in the mineable zones? Try to mine in the dark yellow spots which are inside the red circle I created.

Thank you, but actually, the laser fires just fine - but as soon as a rock flies in the sight, the laser won't even fire. But I'll try again with your advice.
