I want to propose a taxation system for house spaces.

Recently some house Factions decided to demand Traders to get a Licence for trading with commodities in an area. One Motivation was to financialy support house forces.

But I saw that this did not get the response that was hoped for and a good part of Players found it a bad idea even.
Also i wonder how this should work realy, with house forces checking the forums for individual "legal" status, controling traffic and keeping an eye on criminals in theyr sector all at same time.

Additionaly this is an unfair system as some Weekend player pays as much as some FL addicted with 5h FL-time a day.

My proposal is to make a Lane Toll on Top of the TLAGSNET (Trade Lane And Gate Sensor Network).
TLAGSNET generates a message to all the local Police forces for anyone that is "docking" or "exiting" a Tradelane now.

I asume it should be relatively easy to implement on top of this TLAGSNET message that, for example 5000 SC (edit: or 500 SC) is drawn from a ship account for "docking". Part of that goes to the "system" and part of it to the local house forces.

Here a list of some benifits that this would have ((i think) there are probably even more):

#1 This would generate good cash for local forces in a very secure and fair way.
#2 EVERYONE pays, there are clearly ways around paying, like flying without any money, but i doubt many will realy go cheating for 5000 SC (edit: or 500 SC) and risk to being stopped with empty pockets by an unpacient Pirate.
#3 Forces would not have to check Licences.
#4 Traders would be spared from lots of paperwork
#5 Factions would be spared from lots of paperwork
#6 House Forces would be very "motivated" to max Traffic aka take care of Pirates that usualy scare off Traders.
#7 This would generate valuable Data for statistics, that can help DEV- and Admin-Team balance FL economy.
#8 Additionaly some of the generated Data could also be well used in RP.
#9 This implements a weak "natural" form of "Cost of living" or "Cost of Trade" for house spaces (aka with Lane infrastructure).

I'd say only on independent worlds and JG there. Using JG gives X amount of SC to house which owns that JG.

Effectivly it would be like visa. Easier, less frequent, making inRP sense.

Guess what, i belive "problems" can be worked around or fixed even. Im not a DEV and i dont have deep insight on how FL works, but it is probably possible to exept shiptypes/ charlevels from taxation.

Anyway, i dont even see a problem for starter chars flying around, loosing theyr money when using Tradelanes. They can adapt by making cash or they simply dont use Tradelanes at begin or they fly around with empty Pockets or you set the fee to 1000 SC.

Whats your issue, this will not prevent any starter from looking around and trying out FL. Its not like his ship explodes if he runs out of cash or he cant make any profit with a 500 cargo Transport anymore.

Oh and btw. with the ad hominem Spazzydragon, i think your just jealous that me, myselve and I came up with that nice idea and not you;)

Never wrote it has to be 5000. Let it be 500 or 1000. This is just an Idea to make FL a better Game probably very easy and with some very good gain for RP. Also maybe a house Government can set that tax as they see fit. TLAGSNET is seperated into single house spaces anyway.

Just think about the House forces making/relying on money from securing theyr systems, competing with other houses over security of theyr own homespace.

That is exactly what houseforce RP should be, so it totaly supports RP and beyond. Police and Military can REALY get payed for what they do.

I like the idea! This Licence crap will never work because so many dont have a Forum account.

Pirate-Players dont like strong Police and so it is no wonder if many PPlayers post negativ here.:PThey want to run around in house systems and only rip of credit with no risk. They want to keep everything and only take take take and never give.
It is realy funny to think they need to pay huge tax to use Lanes. Maybe they also can be taxed higher.

Pirates can not use the Lanes because then they pay for Police!!:laugh:
I will like this very much! Please make this real soon!!!!!:laugh::yahoo::laugh:
