I'm trying to help someone set up Disco. They get everything installed and set up, but when they go to multiplayer, there's no ID. If they go into the start menu and choose that "View my ID" thing, it still says <no ID> or something.

How do you overcome this issue?

use Freelancer account manager maybe?

Use the ID generator to make an account and then activate it with Account manager

hope that helps:)

EDIT: added links

Meh, it worked, now the servers aren't showing up.

I hate how impossible Freelancer is to set up. -_- Especially when you're telling someone what to do.

You didn't use FAM as described, I bet. Add the server-address with port to the command-line of your freelancer-link:

-s78.46.88.87:2302

The server should show up then.

Guggh. If you have to do that then discovery is not installed properly.

The mod includes the server path in various dlls. It doesn't need to be added to the command line.

See the installation tutorial and follow it.

you shouldn't need to do that anymore. Since the mod handles it.

So make sure your friend has activated the discovery mod with Freelancer mod manager (and only the disco mod)

Check your firewall too:)

Also, if you're running on windows vista or windows 7, you'll need to run it as an administrator. There is a tutorial about that on the forums too.

Always run FLAM, FLMM and Freelancer as Admin. I also use the XP service pack, it hardly gives me problems with that.

Apparantly when she opens it as admin, it doesn't even show as Reunion 4.85.

-.-

Dumb crap. But yeah, she did use all the correct things.

If the mod is activated already, something went wrong during the activation. Your best bet is restoring backups, reinstalling FLMM and Freelancer (uninstall Freelancer completely, then install it again), then try again.
