Just wondering, I know its an old game, which means it has some restrictions, but I also know that a lot of the newer ships use lots more poly's than the older ships, and its been quite a while since it came out.
So, the question is, what do you use to play disco?
Min requirements the game shipped with are:
32mb Video Card
256 mb DDR RAM
1.5 ghz processor
I run with either
256mb Video (8 times as much)
2gig DDR2 RAM (8 times as much again)
2.4 ghz processor (I think, know nothing about processors)
Computer:
Computer Type ACPI Uniprocessor PC
Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
OS Service Pack Service Pack 4
Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 (IE 6.0 SP1)

CPU Type AMD Athlon XP, 2000 MHz (15 x 133) 2400+

Motherboard Chipset VIA VT8378 UniChrome KM400
System Memory 1216 MB (DDR SDRAM)

3D Accelerator VIA/S3G UniChrome
Monitor ViewSonic A75f [17" CRT] (AX04207603)
Windows XP Pro Edition
64MB Ati Mobility Video Card (I think, not on my comp atm)
1GB RAM
1.7 GHz Processor
80GB Hard Drive (95% full..)
This is also a laptop. Oddly enough though, I can play EVE, Freelancer, host a Skype conference, have Xfire, MSN messengers on, Photoshop, and Firefox running. Even do all that with Freelancer Explorer on for my system modding sometimes.

I play FL on two different computers, one rubbish, one a year old.
This, I use when I am at home, and it gives me problems whenever there are three or more people in a fight. It cannot keep up, and as a result, I get a frame rate of around 10, like in the Outcast vs Corsair fights.
Rubbish PC:
some silly mini ATX motherboard
Geforce FX 5500 (BIG mistake to buy that)
Irrelevant IDE hard drives (40 GB and 100GB I think)
Pentium IV, stock cooler with spare 80mm fan (broke the first fan with a screwdriver!)
Generic PSU
Generic case with a hidieus facia
I even take my keyboard and mouse home to use on this computer, because the spare ones I have just dont work the way they should anymore...
===========
This I use at school (Boarding school) and it never gives me any problems with any games, except Supreme commander with 1600+ units and buildings on the battlefield and Crysis, when the koreans/aliens make pretty explosions around me, shortly before I die.
New(er) PC:
Asus P5N32-E SLI (680i nvidia chipset), Full ATX.
Asus 8800 GTX (overclocked slightly last time I checked, stream processors untouched.)
C2D E6600 (overclocked from 2.4 GHz to 3.3 GHz)
Arctic cooling Freezer 7 pro cooler. (cheap as chips, and good too.)
Hitachi 320 GB Hard Drive
Enermax Galaxy 850 Watt (barely fits inside the case)
P180 midi-tower case.
Sound blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (dont hit me, thats what it says on the box...)
I recently made two purchases (well, one was during christmas break I seem to remember, and the other was two days ago). The first, was a speaker system, which the sub alone weighs about the same as my computer (which is bloody heavy). Its a 5.1 system.
The second purchase was purely because I broke my good mouse by slamming it against the desk after dieing one too many times on CoD 4. The Razer Lachesis, which was hideously expensive for a mouse. but, thats what you have to pay when you buy a mouse with a 4000dpi sensor in it... and various other things...

Sorry, that was a bit of a rant. But I can't resist telling people/boasting when they start talking about computers. But I am also proud of the timing I bought my good computer, in a year technology still hasn't moved forward that much. Compared to when people (I am sure there were a few caught up) were buying AMD CPUs and ATi GPUs just before Intel released the C2D and Nvidia released the 8800.

This system better last another two years because it nearly killed me
putting it together.
