Do we need new/more Admins?

I saw Players request a Barge and wait for 2 month. Players should get what they want, if other Players got it. Also saw comments that Response to Ruleviolations-reports take up to 2-3 Weeks.

So id say get some more Admins or if that Position is to delicate/powerful, make some Adminhelper- or Halfadmin-Positions and fill them. Rules are essencial to RP and IMHO it is very bad if they dont get enforced well enough.

In other words, it is fine as it is. It is simply summer and with it - holidays, girls, beaches etc. So. If some people who have a life cannot fulfill the wishes of people who believe it is mandatory to work as administrator, they are not doing anything wrong. They are simply living the normal life. It is good that not many Barges are out there. It sickens if they try powertrading and get sanctioned for F1'ing. I doubt that we should be concentrating on rulelancing either. If somebody ruined your fun, simply forget it. Don't let you longterm fun be ruined. Ignore, forget those bad incidents. You can have fun another time.

It's like poker. Sometimes you lose. Sometimes you win. But dealers are always there. One at a time is enough to play the game, yes?

There are only so many things about the Admins and their workload that can be plainly observed by the community. Yes, the Barge thread is pretty backed up right now, and although I haven't seen any comments firsthand about the time it takes for a sanction to be be completed, I wouldn't be surprised if they're going a bit slow, too. Maybe all of their other Admin-ish duties are progressing just as slowly, or maybe it's all running like clockwork. I can't tell; I'm not an Admin.

But I'm pretty sure I've seen an Admin mention before that with the way communication works between them all (Skype and PMs, etc.), it can take a while to get things done simply because it's so hard to get in touch with everyone at the same time. Adding too many more Admins would probably complicate the communication issue further. It's just easier to hold a conversation with 6 or 7 people than it is to hold one with 20 or something.

But I've often wondered if it might not be a bad idea to assign specific Admins or other "Admin helpers" (as you put it) to specific tasks. This is another thing that I think I recall hearing an Admin talk about, saying that they tried it once and it didn't work out very well. And I can certainly imagine that. It would probably suck to be the Admin (or one of the Admins) assigned to wade through all the rule violation reports and hand out sanctions.

I still think it might not be a bad idea to give that kind of division of jobs a try, though, if things get too bogged down with the Admins' workload. Or recruit some trustworthy members for other specific tasks, like appointing an "Admin helper" just for the Bargifying.

But honestly, I'm not an Admin. I don't know exactly what they need, or what would be best for their organization. I don't think it's something for the community to decide. If they need help, they'll find it.

It's not a flame man. It is simply an observation. The ship was not intended to be as a trade ship. Sadly it is used iin such way.
If you took this personally, it is a sign of something personal, fow which it would imply you are not for justice yourself.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

Two things:

1) Kharon the only one who is flaming around here is you flaming SnakThree. (P.S he joked, it was obvious chill out man)

2) Yes we need more admins for time being, I get it that they have life and other things to attend, heck if they wouldn't I would start to be suspicious that they are all really robots that Igiss built. But never the less we need more admins to handle correct situations, or at least admins that will take care of fewer responsibilities, something like focused admin. Admins for SRPs, Admins for Violations and so on, while we will keep our correct admins are "general admins" that supervise everything.

3) Barge were really not meant for power trade, SnakThree is right on this on so stop acting like a little kid on that one only because it don't suit your agenda
