Of late I've been receiving some complaints from players who feel that the IMG deploys an unfair amount of material against attackers. That we for instance set 4 gunboats on 2 bombers, or send out a Solaris Zephyr to shoo a few bombers away from our bases. While this may seem excessive, in most cases this is intentional.
The IMG is not an elite fighter faction. We're a mining/trading faction and most of our players are NOT elite snub fighters. Heck, I suck in one myself and therefor use a gunboat and Hegemon primarily. It's how I enjoy the game. In a one on one situation we'll always lose. Always have. Probably always will. We employ a different tactic to ensure that our trade vessels are more or less safe from pirates. We swarm them with superior numbers, and superior firepower, and force the pirates to either disengage and withdraw, or destroy them utterly. Most pirates don't flee even when faced with excessive firepower, and even when we give them ample chance to.
We don't go looking for pirates either (except for a very few that have made things personal. That would be you Alec_Mason/Fahrenheit;)). We defend our miners and our bases, but beyond that piracy, as far as the IMG is concerned, is a house navy/police problem.
If a pirate goes Q_Q about this, my response to that is: Tough luck. You chose to attack an IMG base/IMG mining operation/IMG convoy. You chose to come at us with the intent to do harm. We'll respond with all we got. Yea, it becomes a gank if you stick around too long and we get organized. From our standpoint, 3 bombers ganging up on 1 transport is no different, yet every pirate faction seems to think that is fine. From our standpoint it's not.
Hope this clarifies things, and that everyone knows what to expect of IMG| now. We're not interested in fighter duels, combat events, etc. Our purpose in the game is resourcing - that's what most our folks have joined up for. And we're trying to make it safe for our folks to do so, any which way we can.

I do approve this Message, I personally slaughtered a lot of |IMG vessels as pirate and you do suck in pvp, I would only advice you not to use bigger ships then Gunboats if the enemy does not have such at hand since then it is unfair and spoils the sportsmanship.
I will give you example with a fight that Corsairs lost yesterday vs RHA- we could put 2 no even 3 Solaris Osiris in that fight and win without problem, we fought fighter only and lost but this have nothing to do with RP, it is just a from of sportsmanship and respect to the Enemy if they deserve it since some definitely does not deserve it, but dont go we must win every time, this policy will make 3-5 better people in PvP to join forces together and make your convoys/mining operations even protected by solaris battleship and 10 snubs to fail.
Gank with snubs-only is also Gank but you can allow the others to have any chance to win, adding many GBs or Battleship remove this chance. There is a chance for 3 snubs to win vs 7-10 if they have skills but if in the 7-10 group are 3 GBs and 1 Battleship the other side have no chance.
Otherwise major kudos to your organisation skills and numbers. It shows that single pirates have little to no chance vs organised Miner/Traders and shows wrong the tons of pirate q-q topics.
Edit: This topic reminds me about the Gopnik leader who decided not to go full clan in Discovery because the clan have more members then the server slots. Sometimes you must restrain yourself in order to enable the other side to have fun too.

I cant believe someone actually put the hypocrisy aside and admitted a fact like that.

This statement, however, is false. IMG doesn't "go after pirates" as long as they do not have superior numbers, but once that happens you stop hiding behind Hood/Freistadt and go in guns blazing. You do hunt pirates (or at least Sails) whenever you have the chance and you never hesitate to join lawful forces in shooting criminals even when they already have superior numbers and/or they don't ask for your help.
Please note this is not Q_Q or criticism but just stating the facts.
If you're not breaking the rules you shouldn't have to suffer these sort of complaints from people who willingly instigate these attacks. Haters gonna hate...
I'll just watch this one a while. It looks a little like it's been born of a degree of bitterness in one way or another, and that's not really a good start. The second this deviates even slightly into the normal downward spiral of yelling that most things do here, I will close it.
It's probably the joining up with other factions that's causing the Q_Q. I've witnessed it with the CR in Tau-23. While the Outcasts are busy with the CR, your guys sometimes jump in on the fight and risk to get hit by the 4 hour rule rather than quickly using the distraction to mine as much as you can.
Though, this is no up-to-date information since I've decided to avoid the lolbrawls in 23 a good while back.
