So I had this idea of an independant pirate faction. There are no ranks, no one giving orders, nohting like that. Its just a tag you add on to your pirate ships that allows other pirates to recognize you. It would be completely secret, so other people who arent in the faction cant see the [!] tag and understand that its a pirate. Completely secret and confidential, known only to pirates.

The purpose for this is so independant pirates in need of aid can call on anyone with the [!] tag. Do you think it would work? No leaders, no ranks, nohting, just pirates.

To be honest, I don't see it working.

Pirate with your friends and don't go about broadcasting it.

This is why factions like the LR and LH have difficulty with activity IMO. As soon as people see the tag, "ZOMG Pirates" and run. Or even worse, don't even enter the system for RP.

Bad idea IMO.

That tag is very similar to the official Hogosha faction's one. Might cause some confusion from time to time. Maybe [!!] would be a good alternative?

Unlawful militia. I don't see any point of that. Unlawfuls should fight each other for profit, territory, pride or any other RP reason. It will just become "generic pirate lolwut gankforce" and will end in tears.

exactly my point. it would be complete meta gaming for people's characters to know of it. this is not for lolwut ganking.

and not every pirate should be fighting for territory, its like a specific gang of pirates. like a pirate crew for example. this way, when in trouble you can look on the players list, see someone with the tag, and call for help from someone you know is friendly.
