This is more for pointless speculation than anything else, but here goes:
Starflea/Tracker: various 'light' aircraft
Transports (Generic): Cargo planes
Templar: Spitfire
Wraith: BF-109
Guardian: P-51 Mustang
Liberty Gunship: AC-130
Borderworlds transport: Douglas DC-3. Literally used everywhere in Sirius- Corsairs, Outcasts, House Corportations, the Zoners- I don't think that a single day has passed without a BWT flying somewhere on the server, similar to how the DC-3 has been flying constantly since 1935
Fafnir: 'Stuka' dive bomber
This is an incomplete list, feel free to add your own.

The Bergilmir is more Stuka, while the Fafnir is more HE-111
Templar doesnt have an RAF equivalent, as the Spitfire was very fast and agile, lightly armored, had medium armament, and very short range - while the Templar is heavy, heavily armed, and heavily armored.
Wraith is FW-190.
Chimaera and Katana are Kawanishi N1K2J - heavy, fast, and heavily armed.

Templar = Hawker Hurricane = workhorse of the RAF, robust and reliable.
Although, I don't like the idea of giving freelancer ships names of "historical" planes... The current naming convention isn't bad at all, they all have their backgrounds. Bretonia using medieval names, knights and so on, Rheinland german mythology, parts of Wagner's Rheingold...
