So, after fooling around with Paint Shop Pro 7 for a while, I created this:

First Thought: Be better if the ship was facing the other way. (Front where the rear is). Amazin otherwise.

Good for a first. Reduce the intensity of that blue ray, and maybe put it behind the Osiris. Or reduce its opacity.

I agree, but in the ship's layer there's also a bad-ass explosion which I combined with the planet's star into that particularly bright flash. So, if I mirrored the ship, the explosion would be at the other end of the picture, ruining it.

Similar problem as with the above. The ray is part of the planet-picture. So if I reduce its opacity, the entire planet will be reduced too.
