The war with the Gaijin of Bretonia has left a dark mark on the youth of Kusari. Countless lay dead, many more returned home invalid and crippled. I myself served for two years as a samurai of the Blue Lagoon, finally reaching the rank of Kaigun-Daii. I too was crippled by the Bretonian dogs, losing both of my legs at the knee during an ejection malfunction. I was discharged from service and returned to Kyushu as a broken mechanism that could not be fixed. The iranai. The unwanted.

I had faith however, and knew I must do my duty to my Emperor, even if His Glory's servants would not have me. My father, Kyou Hiroko-sama, purchased me an Anki class freighter, once I had promised him my own personal funds to have it converted for my disabled state. I armed this freighter and I armoured it. I prepared it for war, under the direction of the superior Samura kieretsu. I am now employed as a front-line supply runner, and a kieretsu observer of Hogsha and Farmer's Alliance operations deep in Bretonian space. I am serving once again.

You have received this message because like me, you have been discarded by the samurai of the Navy as invalid for service. If you were too old, I will have you. If you too were broken, I will help you. If you were a criminal, I will redeem you. My friends, our lives are spent, but we have fight left in us yet! Anki - Renzu Corp Civilian Freighter: The mainstay ship of the Iranai. While the powerplant is fragile, the ship itself handles extremely well. The three class 10 gun slots allow for extreme versatility, if at the cost of the aforementioned powerplant. The Anki is believed to be an even match for its Bretonian arch-nemesis the Clydesdale, besting it in both armour and offensive output.

Drone - J20P - 21F Kusari Freighter: This ship has a niche use as a freight shuttle, but a marginal place on the battlefield. The larger cargo bay and moderate defences make the Drone a useful transport. The armour rating is well below that of the Anki and the Clydesdale however, while also suffering from a deficient powerplant. The vessel of choice for sadists and merchants.

Civilian weapons and munitions (all classes).
Disinfector Kusari Neutron Blasters (class 7-9)
Sunfrenzy 1 Kusari Photon Blasters (class 7-9)

The Iranai will operate predominantly in Kusari and Bretonian core systems. Bretonian systems will include Leeds, Dublin and New London.

The Iranai will attack Bretonian corporate targets, and choice military targets should the opportunity to do so successfully present itself.

They will support the KSP and KNF in upholding internal security, through the hunting of Blood Dragons, Golden Chrysanthemums and other pirates within Kusari core space.

As a secondary role, they will act as Samura escorts and traders, hiring their services to passing trade. This will take them to Liberty and Rheinland.

Q: Didn't Bowex do this exact thing first?
A: Yeah, they did. This was designed as a countermeasure to Clydesdales rampaging through Kusari. I just love the idea of corporate freighter fleet battles. Freighters are hugely effective and massively under-appreciated.

Q: Don't you lead the Clydesdale Brigade too?
A: Ye-eah, I created it, but that's beside the point. No-one else was in a hurry to do this, so I thought I might as well take the initiative. I'm hoping to bring a little more activity to Kusari, so my intentions are good at least. If it's any consolation, I've already assisted in taking two of my own men out.

Q: Where'd that crap logo come from?
A: Now you've hurt my feelings... But really, it's a mixture of the Samura player faction's logo, the stylised Kusari flag owned by the KNF and some katanas I found on Google. The prior two get all credit for the images involved.

Zelot, would you be interested in helping me set up some freighters-only events in or around Kusari? I'm imagining some sort of campaign.

So, perhaps the Brigade and Iranai clash in Honshu when they meet accidentally on a supply run. Whichever loses launches a revenge attack on the other the next week. That sort of thing.

Also, make a freighter, Jacob. You've been following all my freighter related antics, so I know you're interested. Join the Iranai (or Brigade). Make an Anki (or Clydesdale) and charge into hopeless odds for the glory of Kusari (or Bretonia)!

It's not that expensive, and I'll even subsidy most of the set-up cost. Even if doing this is going to bankrupt me. :dry:

Well, the faction's inRP is aimed primarily at the people who couldn't get into the KNF for whatever reason. Generally that's veteran KNF who've suffered debilitating injuries, the elderly or those with criminal records.

If by Libertonian you mean born to Kusari parents in Liberty, that would work. Otherwise, inRP you'd run into trouble. A lot of the characters would harbour a particular resentment to 'Gaijin'. There's nothing to hone dislike of outsiders like losing a limb to one. :P
