Over the past years Freeport One has undergone several refit and expansion projects. While such projects are always ongoing, we have completed a wing surrounding our central court. The purpose of this wing is to house consular and embassy offices and staff for your government. The One wishes to be a center for diplomacy and trade, and we invite each government to establish a presence on the station for diplomacy with each other as well as a central location for discussion of trade agreements.

In the ancient times of our home system of Sol, there existed such a location, where various governments be they friend or foe, could speak amongst each other for matters of global consequence, as well as matters individual. It is not our intent to urge pan-system peace, though such would be great, it is simply our understanding that communication is a key component of trade, peace, or war. Having your government with a consular staff aboard the One is the furtherance of communication.

Freeport One has been updated with the latest in security technologies and a triple layer of shielding to protect it. In addition, the consular suites have been fitted with the latest technologies to prevent eavesdropping by rivals. Our invitation also includes staffers and engineers to view the spaces and note any changes that would be necessary for your preferences.

As many are aware, the One has kept a 5k protection zone around the station. While this is a no fire zone, we wish to create within it a free trade zone; a location where trade, even among unlikely parties, is possible without fear of attack or reprisal. Recently outside the station I observed a Corsair transport trading goods with an Interspace Commerce vessel. This is what a Freeport should be, a location where trade can be performed without fear by either party.

We do this, not under a flag of conquest, but under a flag of freedom. We do this not because it is easy, but because it is hard. We do this to establish a legacy for our children, and our children’s children into the great beyond. Communication is the key to trade, trade is the key to our economies, and there are times even when warring parties have need to talk with each other under flag of truce.

We ask that each government give full clearance and passage for diplomatic vessels en route to and from Freeport One. To assist in this endeavor, each government is requested to clearly mark their vessel as an Envoy ship.

4th – 9th November: Arrival of emmisaries

8th -9th November: Open House for ambassadors, consular officers and staff to view the new wing and selection of consular spaces. Tour of Freeport One.

9th November: Buffet dinner and drinks in the central court of our latest BioDome addition.

10th November: Grand ball aboard The Northern Star to showcase Zoner technologies. The Ball will be located in the main BioDome of the ship as it cruises from Freeport One to planet Sprague and back.

11th-15th November: Conference in the main meeting room of Freeport One.

Note: While corporations and trading companies will also be invited to the station, those members will be permitted to attend the buffet mixer and grand ball, but only government representatives will be permitted to attend the conference.

Genine San Savage;

After a brief consultation with other members of the government, as well as military representatives, we have decided to respectfully abstain from participating in the conference.

The overwhelming feeling in government is that even if universal pressure were to be put on pariah states to cease committing to actions that only destabilise the sector, their behaviour would not be changed. Thus, the conference will only serve to give false hope to citizens all around Sirius that issues critical to their standard of living and continued security will be solved.

I would like to say that on behalf of the Republic of Liberty, we do condone the spirit of these talks. However, the realities of certain governments, such as those of Kusari and Rheinland, mean that no progress can be made until both make the transition to true democratic governance.

There may be those, such as the corporations, who wish to put forward their proposals. We are aware that the corporate delegations are not permitted to enter the talks, but should we receive any interest from them, they may be attending in place of the government and should then be considered as representatives of the government of the Republic of Liberty.
