As far as I know, there are no more restrictions about technology usage. We will get power drain, etc. but we CAN use "forbidden" technology.

Since I dont know more about the new rules I have 2 simple questions:

1, Can I use ANY weapon on ANY kind of ship? (What match with it for sure)

2, If my ID let me to use a ship type, can I use any kind of it?

For example: Bison with Unioner ID?

Its weird I know...

Yeah, but you will get an energy nerf and serious RP consequences from any faction that doesnt want you having their equipment.

I'm pretty sure even weird red combinations are allowed, but expect bounties, and FR5's...

But you're energy regen will be incredibly low.

It will be errr...interesting.

It means, that I could use nomad guns or phantom guns, or I could fly with Rheinland cruiser as an LN captain, etc. etc. etc.?

Nomad Blasters and such are restricted to only Order, Nomad, etc. ships... By ID rule.

Phantom guns you can't get... so... No.

Yup.

Expect extreme suspicion + gunfire + FR5's...

As of right now I wouldn't try using closed faction tech, I currently have one of my ships sitting in Bastille for just that. The Admins are discussing my case as we speak.

IF you do use closed faction tech, get it in a LEGAL way, and have some hard worked Role Play to back it up.

That's my advice from my current experiences with controversial/closed faction tech use in .86

Myth indeed - but I'll doublecheck wether phantom tech is set as nonlootable (as it should be).

Anyway, the tech plugin is meant to fix the imbalances occurring from mixing tech. Wether admins want to still block red usage by rule, is up to the admins - not a dev issue:)

actually, you are wrong. you still need permission to use the tech from the faction that holds it.

If that's true, what's the point of the energy nerf? Getting permission doesn't get rid of it...

getting permission wont make your ship any more compatible, just makes the owner of the technology less likely to hate you for using it.
