Captain's Log. Date Nov.16.819. Ship time 0700 hours. Norfolk Shipyard.

Today was a...busy day. After weeks of patrolling California we had to return to Norfolk for a malfunction. According to Master Chief Petty, the last ion storm hit us bad. Burned a couple of EPS conduits and a majority of our SPS, SQQ and SLQ sensors. Not to mention the main core overheating problems we had from the last confrontation with the Gallic forces. The trip was schedule for November 10 and we were suppose to arrive on November 16, a six days journey in friendly territory with no problems. That didn't happened thou. Half way trough Liberty Lieutenant McNeil received a call from Liberty Navy Lieutenant Commander Michael Morse about a unidentified ship harassing the miners in Pennsylvania system. Although the Lieutenant-Commander Young highly suggested and almost opposed to my order, I still responded to the call. We set course for planet Erie where Corporal Elbon put us in high orbit of Erie. Lieutenant McNeil started to scan for that ship. With most of our sensors burned out we could only do that much. Lieutenant Commander Michael Morse went ahead in the field trying to spot the ship, we remained in the orbit since it wasn't indicated to go inside that field especially with our problems. The ship elude Lieutenant Commanders scans and couldn't get a hold of it, the only thing we were able to get is that it was a Gunboat Class ship and its name: Chomsky|Syn. There was no need to try more to find the ship as it was not in any scanner range. It was clear that it was long gone. On our way home we receive a transmission from Battleship Rio Grande from Colorado system, informing us that there is a unknown signal on long range sensors, that might be a Capital ship. We proceeded to investigate but with no luck. With our sensors down we were only able for local scans. After a couple of hours of wild goose chase and tons of fuel wasted we set course for Norfolk Shipyard.
The docking procedure was completed with no problems whatsoever and Master Chief Petty estimates that the repairs will be completed in a maximum of five days. Computer, end journal.
