What this thread is about since we all know the rules already, is proposeing some compromise that will allow our encounters to be more frequent for those who would like that. I am speaking for the Harvesters in general and if any Harvester has an opinion please PM me or you may out your self here if you want.
What I propose is I will state the terms the Harvesters would like to see agreed upon and, Zoners may place they're ideas too.
1. After a Combat Harvester goes through initial set up, I have been asked by Zoner players they'd like to see the Harvesters red and very hostile. I can do this it makes since, after the attack on GC the gig is up every Zoner knows(NPCs) not just the elites(players) that the Harvesters are out to get them. Agreed. Will do and working on it. It will take a little more time than I expected as I have learned that killing ZOners takes down your Junker rep so, I've had to go back and forth killing Zoners and doing Junker missions. Its working just not very fast, please be forgiveing.
2.All capship Harvesters will make some sort of announcement before attacking, we ask the same from Zoner caps, to simulate larger power spike on scanner giveing the heads up of big ships.
3.We would like the to have a standing agreement of an eliminated Zoner/Harvester may reengage with different RP related characters and, not the same for the normal 4 hours.
4 We interpet the the no criuser/BS attacks on traders to include holders of trader ID not Zoner ID, ship are irrelivent. Harvester Traders will have Freelancer or Junker ID, same treatment for us.
5.Anyplayer in game who is not comfortable with whats agreed upon here may just state // convetional or normal rules any thing to convey that you are not down with modified rules.
6. we respect each others character maintanence by expressing that so and so, is setting up, a character setting up is a non target. Once setup all other maintanence is done at your own risk. This is only for new characters.
Now this is the first post for this thread and I exspect clashing ideas so, just keep the Super novas on stun and save the heavy artillery for space. This is not complete and intill folks on here say "signed" they are assumed to only want conventional rules. This thread will not go into effect untill April 1, 2008 to give people time to place their concerns until then conventional rules for all unless worked out by involved parties before hand.
Scornstar, you gotta understand that I speak only for the TAZ, and they hardly ever listen. As to the rest of the "Registered" Zoners, I never asked for nor ever wanted to be the bloody King of the Zoners; so I welcome, nay, expect others to voice their opinions, agreements or misgivings as well.
Point by point.
1) It's only reasonable that Zoner npcs be your enemies... thanks for that. However, you only mentioned "combat" units, so am I to assume that your traders and support craft won't be hostile to Zoner npcs?
2) Fair enough.. that's pretty much the rule now.. or at least a "gentleman's rule" on the server.
3) This is stretching it a bit. Especially with the large variety of players who are now tagged Zoner. Best keep it to the stock server rules, as Zoners can never decide on anything. Ya die, then you and your other "incarnations" are out of it in that system for 4 hours. Period.
4)I really don't understand what you're saying here. If you're saying that both Zoner and Harvester trade and support vessels are subject to "wartime" rules and attack, then I'd have to stipulate that only "Registered" Zoners should be affected. (While I wouldn't mind seeing this as a way of culling "faux" Zoners by makin' them soil their knickers, I wouldn't really be able to sleep at night if I unleashed you on 'em.)
If you're saying that the combatants' trade vessels should be immune to attack, not sure about that either. We both know that Flax (or in your case, bioforms and junk) fuels the war machine. Escorts to the ready, and Eris bless the poor merchant, primate or digital, that ventures out alone.
5) Meh. Obviously, you expect your members to know the story and the rules of engagement. If a Zoner can't be arsed to get his ducks (ID, IFF, Forum awareness) in a row... maybe he deserves to be "harvested".
Zoners can pass the word, inform others of the danger, offer aid and escort, and if the sunday "zoner" still wants to hide behind his ID and tag, and ignore this wonderful opportunity to RP, then tsk, tsk. But perhaps we ultimately need an Admin ruling on this point.
6) Again, gentleman's rules. I think we're all mature enough to assess each encounter that might fit this category.
I just realized that statements 4 and 5 clash a bit. All the more reason for more feedback.
If all else fails, we can always fall back, and make this strictly a TAZ/Harvester event, thereby making a huge consensus unnecesarry.
3. I suggest keeping it as is with the server rules and only have the rule lifted for the harvesters during scheduled events, if needed. (just like last time)
4. Again, server rules should remain, except in the case of events. Besides it wont be needed to take capships to kill transports.
5. I like the idea of all zoners being involved. Even if they don't show for combat, we can still protect them, etc... Only thing is we'd need to explain to these players what is going on before/after it happens.
6. Generally for a new zoner, the last thing to be completed is the tag, IMO. Therefore as it should be, only fully tagged/IDed zoners should be taking part.. and of course as Malaclypse mentioned, we are all mature individuals...
Also, what about having the harvesters carry an item with them at all times to represent their "brain"? If it survives the explosion we have to take it to be analyzed (and you guys would want to stop us).. etc.. Just a thought.

Iâll carry this flag
To the grave if I must
Because itâs flag that I love
And a flag that I trust
Ok I am toying with the idea of makeing all Harvesters carry a single artifact or Counterfiet soft ware, to reprsent the brain/beacon. I like the Artifact better I think as TAZ already has alternate use of bogus software.
I like this and will take steps soon.
I think by default unless a Zoner is fully tagged and IDed then standard rules apply.
I'm not implying we need cap ships to take down traders but thats whats there sometimes and I cant just say let me switch right quick. Plus caps can harvest more. I like to take junk.
I would be OK with just registered but this already involves many independents so unless this gets stinky I want to leave open to them.
I still think if a fully IDed and tagged Zoner happens to be flying an advanced train and I know they have been playing longer than a week, then they are fair game.
Zoner tag and trader ID non target.( I better not see a bunch of this starting to happen, I have nasty fighters)
Well awaiting the publics responce. Wheres Jinx shes alway got something to say, from an interesting point of view. Some one jerk her head this way.
I'll bow to Mal, but I consider [TAZ]Tradin'Seb fair game for all Harvesters, and all Harvesters fair game for [TAZ]Punchin'Seb. Of course, they demand the Alpha Code, which I can't give them, and I demand their prisoners, which they won't give me, so the conflicts are all good.
I would really like an admin ruling saying that gloves are off for Harveys vs all ID:d/IFFed Zoners - or rather, all ID:d Zoners. To be hunted would purge the ranks of posers, and make for much funniness!
(I think Harvesters is the next best thing since sliced Chao)

i agree with your rules - and like i allready said in another thread, - even that traders are targets for warships. ( no prob here - like i d fly a transport anyway...... )
i agree that it should only extend to the registered member of the council - cause there you can be certain that those people have forum access and most probably read the relationship between zoners and harvesters. if you extend it to any zoner, your faction will be sanctioned till christmas quicker than you can make an apology, i daresay.
allthough inChar i have no idea what the alpha code is ... my reaction to ANY hostile activity is allways to hit cruise anyway ( and since a small vessel with a 30.000 shield isn t really too easy to catch, i don t expect any trouble anyway )
what i d like to know if - is that hostile state limited? - have you written up a "solution"? - cause, per se, zoners are neutral to all, and a lot of people that play zoners do that cause they are not looking for pvp situations on a regular base.
edit: do we have balancing rules? - like ... "don t put an universal bounty on all harvesters so the countless BHGs can swarm you to death"?
Right now Isee no prob with whatever you do tactically. However I do want ya'll to bare in mind you will unlikely ever see more than three on at a time as we are all in different time Zones and many are in other factions as well and must keep up their appearances there. So haveing BH swarms might just take from the Zoner Volunteer Defence fleets action. Ya'lls choice we play hard ball and will adapt.
From the cautions I've heard so far I think more RP with new Indie contacts to give them a chance and regeristered fair game. I have just for the record told some Zoner IDed individuals that clearly had no idea and, were flying around me like wow cool ship whered you get it and so on, to "Check the forums for Zoner council on all you need to know on Harvesters we should be fighting now but I'll pretend I didnt see you and, the next time you see a Harvester run or fight."
I'm consolidating the story but I keep that mostly, to keep things straight in my head. I direct people who ask OOC to ask Zoners. I want this conflict to be a destraction the ZOners must work through to solve a mystery. As well as giveing an on going villian for the Zoners.
Right now we are holding back on player hunting only interacting with those we cross paths with for awhile to give other stories some time and to get our stuff together as I've been recruiting and gathering resources so the next battle can be bigger and more memorable. I want to throw a war that every one is invited to. But thats down the road, right now this is for Zoners namely.
I also think I'm going to make some small under level Harvesters, so maybe we can have some light fighter and tiny ship combat. Let me know if there is a market for that.
I would like to hear other ideas and points of view and examples of what others want as well. I want Harvesters to be a thorn in your side but welcomed RP pals.
As far as i'm concerned, you may consider my Zoner Guard tagged trader (advanced train) Kuraine fair game, and vice versa for any Harvesters that my Zoner Guard tagged (Zoner Destroyer) destroyer Billy Banks comes across;)
Will be fun, and I look forward to having someone the Zoners can actually fight without complaints.
