The "need" for a faction is simple--it gets participation from others which simple forum posts don't always do.
Secondly, there is a difference in the level of commitment to a faction and a "group of guys with self-made tags" that is important to have if we are going to generate good role play.
Lastly, we have some role play ideas we will want to explore that are enhanced by our being a faction.
As I said in the submission, we aren't asking anyone to alter THEIR role play--this is ours.
I have a very detailed role play background that will go up on the website but would hate to pour a ton of work in it only to have the submission shot down. When we have approval, I'll add quite a bit of content. What is given in my submission are the core goals and functions. The details follow.
Could you share those ideas please? I think everyone here has pretty much envisioned Junkers as being rather singular people, working together only out of necessity.
Also, you talked about penalizing "Rogues, Outcasts, Hackers or Corsairs for aggression against the Junkers". As far as I know, no aggression exists. They're your business partners, not enemies.
Cool idea, and I like it. One thing I would change though, your "Base/Station Adjudicators"...why don't you assign one guy overall, one guy per house including Corsairs/Outcasts (maybe a guy for Kusari...invasions and such) who deals with each House, and then one guy per base to help new people along and deal with things on a local level. Just my thoughts, shove them around if needed.
Edit: Seems the Junkers still need to pay their bribes to the Sirius gods to grease the wheels and make people happy...
It's an interesting concept. I like it a lot. It's how the Junkers should act. However, as a faction leader...
Quote:Who will penalize Rogues, Outcasts, Hackers or Corsairs for aggression against the Junkers? No one.
That in itself sounds aggressive. Attempts to 'penalize' the 101st or Outcasts in general will be met with a sound disapproval involving The Fleet, which currently consists of enough firepower to level basically anything but the house militaries. So, in short, Bring It.:P

Eppy, just because someone fights you doens't mean it's militarily. I could see the Junkers cutting off the distribution of Cardimine and exposing the OC routes to the authorities if we pissed them off enough...then we would (should) RP economic crisis.

You're missing my point. I'm saying that if they even TRY and 'Penalize' us or threaten our Cardamine trade I will solve things with big guns. You can't collect if you're dead:no:
