the efficiency of shields vs. guns is 20%. so a gun that is "strong" vs. a type of shield does 20% more damage, while a gun that is weak will do 20% less damage.
personally i d like it if it was more like 50% to have an even greater impact. gotto keep in mind that capital ship weapons, nomad weapons and codenamed do not have any type. - so they allways do 100% damage.
furthermore it would be nice if shields beyone 10k strength would still show a graphical difference. ( upon getting hit, they all show 3 hexagon shaped tiles in white... )
I'd acctually like it if they showed some slight differences. I know that each of a different classes up until the class 9/10 shields have different graphic's, so why can't the class 9/10 do the same?
especially the capship shields - would like to see a bit more colour when they re hit - ( i especially like the class 1 shields that look like a little pulsar - or the lightning of some shields. - actually, the white hexagon effect is one of the more boring ones ) - but its all only cosmetics.
Why are Champions shields weak ? I have an Champion shield that says it wil reduce damage from pulse,laser and pulse. I got my shield blown away by Liberty navy with there Vengence guns.
I prefer molecular too.. Because I mostly fight Outcasts and BHG..
Anyway, I would like to see those bonuses improved.. To some 50%..
So you actually have to worry which shield to bring in which battle.
Or even better, make certain factions shields - so they have to mount that one.
For example, Molecular for Corsairs, Graviton for Outcasts etc...

Problem is that a lot of people have "just slighly" on the edge of RP loadouts... that very fast messes the shield vs guns balance for some factions. Now it's still ok since it's "only" 20%.
Example would be half SA having 6 Buckshots.
or Blood Dragons that should be using Daitos or Disinfectors (weak against gravitons and positron).. with 6 Krakens.
or Outcasts with 2 Krakens (best on Graviton), 2 Wyrms (best on Molecular)... and civilian Imp. Debilitators (best on Positron)
When you see it now in game.. you just think.. well it doesn't make so much difference... now think if they had 50% more. (Krakens do make a difference btw. since they do by far most damage)

Btw. about Imp. Debilitators... they are from LH base yes.. but anyway...that's like Outcasts mounting Disinfectors since they are sold on Blood Dragon base - you don't see that.
These faction with strong connections in their house companies... have barely enough guns for themselves.
Oh.. and Corsairs with Debilitators that's a very big :nono:

Civilian weapons are usable by all HUMAN factions. The MKII BW Light Fighter (forgot its name) is sold on a pirate base, yet the RM and most other lawfuls couldn't give a dang.
