4.86 First Impressions

Okay, So I've come from my year long freelancer fast. And I come back and 4.86's beta is out so I'll just be writing this as i play my first 30 minutes or so....

Well. Making my first character "Metal.Flamingo" And apprently "L" is mapped to some strange control so my name turned into Meta.Famingo so i went into the controls and changed "Toggle HUD" And "Toggle HUD color" to "end" and "Pgdown". Thus My character is born. I'm also curious about the HUD colors and such. Anyways on to the game. Ahh, Planet Erie, Similar start and all that's a welcome sight. Toggle HUD color dosen't seem to work. Perhaps i need a download? Anyways carrying on, Let's first travel into the bar and see what many missions I'll have availible to make my first credits. Took a bounty collecting job to capture "Edward Edmonds" I'll just call him Ed. Oh goodie i start out with 3 starbeams! (2 level 2's and one level 3) Much better than the two justices you get in '85. Ahh, Good to know a "Free"lancer ID is actually free. But it seems there are two 80,000,000 dollar ones availible as well. What differences could they possibly have. I wonder. Hmm, They all seem the same to me. But then again maybe not. Better get off before i get Botted for base-hugging. Ahh. My map is beautifully empty, I can't wait to fill every gap in it once again! My first waypoint is 34 Kilometers away. And I see the speed i travel at is the same as in '85. Good. Seems there not many new things I have to get used to yet. I've arrived at my waypoint and after a short skirmish i got my man and destroyed his forever spinning bloodhound, Time to haul him back to planet erie combat has remained relatively the same. Perhaps I'll ask a player via PM what differences he's noticed. Anyways I've got my 5,100 time to buy some more advanced weaponry. Oh wow the map looks different, Nicer in a way but then again. I haven't played '85 in forever so maybe it's just the same. Seems I've picked up some helium without realizing so, I'll just sell that off. Oh good. I have 20,000 now Time to buy my second ship. Ahh, The good Ol' patriot. Time to outfit it to my liking. I haven't noticed any major differences so, I checked the news. After reading multiple articles involving pennsylvania's boron miners and ALOT about the IMG I've concluded that most the major differences are within the Tau's And gallia. Although I expected ALOT of changes I can't say that I'm not satisfied with the new release of Discovery I can't wait to find out many more new things throughout the game, I'd look them up but I find it more fun to find them myself.
