Ok so while watching this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxzvNPMhkXs...feature=related it inspired me to come up with a similar event for the BAF / GRN Conflict. So I thought why not use my battleship HMS-Argosax as the centre of the event.

Storyline: HMS-Argosax is renowned for the stupid and dangerous missions it engages in sometimes deep behind enemy lines to stalk RNS Ships or gather intel as can be read from here: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?...pic=117710 , well the start of this event will be one of these recon missions gone horribly wrong!!

It starts with the HMS-Argosax receiving intel from a council spy installed on Battleship Castres that a Royal Navy delegation from New Paris are coming to visit the Bretonia frontlines to provide moral support to the Royal Navy fighting on the frontline, where a High Ranking Navy Admiral will also be amongst the delegation there to give a speech. This Admiral is the primary target for the HMS-Argosax whose capture is priority level one as loosing him would be a big morale blow to the GRN. Argosax also receives intel that the delgation will be lightly armoured as it moving behind gallic lines.

So Argosax decides to intercept the delegation alone but this mission goes horribly wrong, first the Argosax does not have enough time to leave fully prepped as the delegation will be most vulnerable while traveling through Orkney but time is against them so it leaves without full batts / bots, only 500 of each.
Once the Argosax intercepts the delegation it makes light work of the "Lucullus" Gallic Liner carrying the Admiral, who is apprehended and placed under arrest aboard the Argosax.

But this is where it all goes wrong as firstly Argosax does have enough batts / bots to make it back to bretonian space especially with the GRN now on heightened alert that their Admiral has been abducted who are out looking for the Argosax!

Eventually the GRN intercept the Argosax and severely damage the Argosax's engines and weapons systems are offline, Navy Marines are attempting to board the Argosax and rescue the Admiral and it will only be a matter of time before they do and the crew of the Argosax will be executed. With time running out the Argosax sends a distress signal "HAIL MARY" to BAF HQ asking for immediate rescue with Argosax severely damaged and being held hostage by the GRN.

Thats right in this event with the Argosax disabled, the GRN are holding it hostage while they attempt to breach its hull and rescue their admiral, since the Argosax cannot move it will just sit there severely damaged while GRN ships swarm around it like sharks.

Event: BAF must intercept and destroy the GRN Forces holding the Argosax hostage, thereby getting the Argosax repaired and returning to Bretonia with their prize the GRN Admiral

OR

The GRN destroy any BAF ships attempting to rescue the Argosax, then retrieve the Admiral and destroy the Argosax.

So what do you guys think?

There are several... weird things in this story

- A high ranked Navy "Admiral" (Royal Navy doesn't have admirals, but that's besides the point) doesn't travel in a liner. He travels in his own battleship, escorted by loads of other ships. Not something a single Dunkirk can handle
- A single Bretonian Battleship destroys this ship and manages to capture the admiral? Yea no. By destroying a ship, you don't capture someone. To do that, you need a boarding party to kidnap said person, which makes this story even more unlikely

And that's just the main things. It looks to me that you didn't really think this through. Did you talk to any of the factions involved at all?

Organizing events other then just regulated fights is really a good idea, but I don't think this will work.

Well if you read it, it would explain the delegation will be travelling behind gallic lines hence flying in a Liner rather than a battleship is safe. Bret BS destroys the liner takes the admiral but is then intercepted and severely damaged by GRN forces who attempt to rescue the admiral. Hence the BS does not just escape with the Admiral.

Details about whether a GRN has admiral or not is beside the point as right now this is just an idea as and I am trying to gauge interest, I have contacted members of the GRN| and BAF| about this idea of an event.

Yep, because a Dunkirk walks across the border without being noticed.
"We use jumpholes" excuse is invalid.
As if Gallia doesn't watch them?

Also Capital ships can't kill liners iirc, Rule wise.
Orkney isn't exactly safe space either.
As the next systems are the Tau's and Lewis, which are known for heavy encounters.
So moving the 'admiral' in a liner through there would be a stupid move, GRN wise.

If you would ask me,
than this event looks very unrealistic to me.
But this all is just my opinion.

To be honest, BAF HC would probably throw you to the wolves. Lose one reckless battleship and its commander, or lose most of a battlegroup trying to save it from a situation it caused for itself?

Fine throw me to the wolves whatever I dont care to be honest, if indys will get involved then who needs the BAF| shove the BAF| (spoke to FallenKnight on skype and he says NO to BAF| involvement) and anyone else who dont like this idea coz I dont care!

This can be a nice little indy event, all you need is a few indy players on both sides and you have an event:

Rescue the Argosax and receive the much prized GRN delegate for interrogation or GRN succeed in rescuing the Delegate from the Argosax and whoever tried to rescue the argosax is destroyed

Well as you can see WE NEVER MOVE VIPS in a Liner. That was made pretty clear to me by dab.

Also have you talked to us first, to make the event? NO.

And lastly we dont have Admirals. Only Marhsals.

You dont speak to us. You make an event which dont happen at all. BAF| said no to you Knowing you.

My Conclusion: Talk to factions you involve. Its really important you know. For this if you speak to DAB, its more than enough really since he leads BAF| and GRN| now.
