Salutations, Colonials.

You know, sometimes I wonder why it had to be -that- outcome. It seems that for whatever reason, no matter my attempts to calm down things on both sides, things just seemed to follow an uninterruptable cycle that led to this bloodbath two months ago.

I don't know what you were expecting when your representative decided to pretty much insult my father. It's obvious you had ties with the Council, and I don't know what they've told you, but clearly they sent you head first into a death pit.

What I don't get is where this hate of the regime came from. I think you're clearly mistaken on how things work here. I have studied the laws of the sirian houses, and quite frankly I don't see much differences, except maybe that we have higher punishments and standards related to criminal acts.

We have also welcomed many sirians in Gallia lately, including corporations. Those who accuse us of xenophobia ? Well, I'd like what they have to say to that now.

Although personally, I really hope that things will calm down like they did with Kusari.

To get back to the initial point of this message, I just wanted to let you know that, now that I hope you realised that you've been played on by multiple groups here, the door for negociations isn't closed. Enough people die everyday from the hands of criminals that have no knowledge of what honor, dignity and overall respect means. We do not need to increment that number with useless wars.

The Colonials were not involved in the events of Sol that led to the war with Bretonia, a war that I already know is unstoppable. Therefore I don't see why you should suffer from a war that is not related to the Colonial Republic in any way.

Think about it. It still isn't too late to stop the bloodbath.

Miss DeFrance.

Is that a joke? It was your father that insulted us, our people and our home. It is your father who expected us to kneel and offer ourselves like a lamb for the slaughter. We do not do the bidding of anyone, we aren't slaves as the Bretonians had thought us as such yet we can all see their peril now.

This was forwarded to me since the government obviously took it as a joke, and the only reason I'm even responding to this is because I feel a hint of sincerity in your voice. Enough sincerity to show reason and let you explain your intention miss DeFrance.

Yet our stance and belief has not changed, we will not yield to Gallia and become slaves to your will, I myself would rather die, which goes for many under my command.

Bonjour Admiral Terrence.

I am sincere. I came to you by myself, this is not some official diplomatic thing held by a Baron that knows little on how to talk with Sirians.
I think many forgot that before the Council breached the minefield and decided to openly reveals Gallia to everyone, The Council forgot to say at the same time that Gallia did not speak any sirian language, nor studied it. There's very few of us Gallics that studied the sirian language further than what's in the the instruction manual.

The only thing you'll have here is me telling you what I really think. No lies, no status babble, no intentionally overcomplicated words. If you think you can do the same, then I'm sure we have ground to work on.

My father is the King of Gallia. You have to understand that just like your representative, he has to keep an integrity in front of his people. Sometimes it means that he has to be direct, but you don't lead a Kingdom if you are a gummy bear. The problem is that you misunderstood his words. My father is Gallic before all, he chose his words to be understood by a Gallic, not by a Sirian. But you are a Sirian, not a Gallic. Therefore the Colonials did not understand his meaning of the words he use.

If you're willing to talk more about this, let me know.

Miss DeFrance.

Let's say I believe you -which I still have no reason to- and that all of this was really based on some error of communication or judgment of your father's meaning. What would the real meaning be when he practically ordered us to give in to his will when he uttered the words 'fealty' and 'pledging allegiance'. I'm fairly accurate that doesn't have any other interpretation, yet if it does we'd like to know.

And yes, we're talking.

Admiral Terrence.

Interpretations is something versatile. Most of the time, back on earth, didn't misinterprerations led to conflicts with others who essentially believed into the same thing ?

I'm not here to blame anyone, what happened is now written forever in history, but we always have the chance to fix the mistakes of the past. Everyone can.

I am not a woman of wars, I am a woman that cares for her people and I care for the impact we have on Sirius. The destruction of a people is not something I want to see Gallia responsible of. We've all been on the verge of extinction by the Coalition in Sol, all of us in Sirius are bond together by this tragedy. Isn't once sufficent ? Are wars only based on an ideological difference necessary ? I don't think so.

Things work differently in Gallia, but it doesn't mean they're incompatible with the way your Republic work. The Gallic people is prideful, but also extremely conservative of the procedures. You could argue that choosing a Royalist system isn't in your view the best way to rule Gallia, but in reality if you look at the numbers : we have close to no unemployement, our gross national product is way higher than the four sirian houses and the latest survey Solar Engineering conducted last month estimated that 84,6% of the Gallics were very satisfied with their current living conditions.

But it seems I have deviated a bit from the initial point here. So to go straight to the point : My father never asked you to become his slaves. If you look at Kusari, we have an understanding with them. Did you see them become slaves ? Not at all, last I heard the Kusarian Government still leads its house all by itself, and their market has flourished (so did our actually) as their trade companies became able to trade with Gallia.

It seems the Council was really desperate from what I see. Desperate enough to lure you into thinking that fighting us was a good choice for whatever reason, while in reality we didn't care about harming your people at all. The only thing my father required from your Republic was your acceptance of the Kingdom of Gallia, which could have led to us becoming trade partners instead of enemies. In the eyes of the Gallic people, these events are still pretty recent, and can be worked on before they become engraved forever.

I can help you with that, if you're willing to go for it. I don't think you want to see more of your citizens die for a cause that only originated from the lies of the Council.

Princess DeFrance.

I must admit your words had me startled for a moment, I wouldn't have believed you if I hadn't thought on it myself, at least you have a point. But either way, how would you guarantee such a thing? You say you are not a person of war, that I can see yet your father and older sister certainly are. If there was even a chance for something between the Republic and your Kingdom other than war, what guarantee could you have that your father would accept such a thing, we are no where near as powerful as Kusari is even after their defeat, we don't have the prestige they had.

Yet personally, I see reason in your words and even hope. Indeed people not need die for no reason, I will be awaiting your reply as I myself am interested.

Admiral Terrence.

I didn't say I guaranteed it yet, but I know it can be done. Aurelia and my father are maybe more inclined to war, but I can assure you they're still reasonable persons that do not go at war unless they have a good reason to.

For now, if the Colonial Republic would be interested to enter negociations to put an end to the hostilities, I need to contact my sister and inform her of what we discussed here, and why not share this channel access with her. If I come alone to my father and put forward this request, he'll look at it for sure and think about it. However if both Aurelia and myself come forward to him and support this request, he'll know it's important and certainly consider this much more, because well, truth to be told, when it comes to war and peace it's most of the time heated debates between us Aurelia and I.

Let me know what you think about this.

Princess DeFrance.

I'll be open with you, I am interested -at least with a non-aggression pact-, as well as some under my command and perhaps some on the Admiralty board, yet there are those who would oppose it as well, I will have to look into it. And yes, perhaps talking with your sister, Aurelia, would help.

But yes, I'll have to contact several people, I will be awaiting your replies.

Not that I am unwilling to enter into a discussion about a possible cessation of hostility with the Colonials, but this begs the question I am unwilling to have go unanswered. Is this the result of the Colonial Republic truly wishing peace, or have you stuffed yourself into a corner yet again and see Gallia as something to use to prevent your destruction, and possibly to be a tool of vengeance upon those you are no longer on good terms with? I know your history well, and I find trusting you difficult.

That said, even if the latter is true, I am not adverse to allowing our power to be used as tool of revenge, but I would expect an equally valuable return to be made for the service we render you.

Princess DeFrance.

I myself -as well as some significant others- believe that there really was no reason between our war, that is, considering if the mentioned language and culture barrier was indeed the only reason, which if so, then it was never a reason. Stuffed into a corner? Yes you may have extensive intelligence on us, but I beg your pardon, the only time we've actually really been ''stuck'' somewhere was when the war with Gallia started.

Revenge? Who possibly does the Republic need to extract revenge from? But, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't one of the main reasons of Gallia's invasion based on revenge? Or at least that's what we all understood when your father sent a transmission to all of Sirius, that and other things.

I will be awaiting your reply.
