I like killing Liberty Dreadnoughts and Cruisers with one of my characters, and I could take out about 15-20 before having to fly back to the pirate base to rebuy bats/bots. In 4.79.3 I can harvest Navy Captains and Generals all day without worrying about my shields. I think this is because the BS shield recharge has been increased to such a rate that the npc ships can't damage me fast enough. The only thing that even affects the shield bar now is the Cruiser forward gun.

There used to be a little bit of skill and danger in doing this but now there isn't any. I'm wondering - has anyone had a BS duel since 479? If the npc Dreadnoughts had the same shields, I doubt we'd be able to hurt each other, or it would take me a very long time to kill them.

The recharge has been increased too much I think. I suggest reducing it to something like it was, or have bs weapons deal more damage (which I think they should - compare a Nomad turret to a codename gun - pathetic!) I thought the recharge was OK before - the only problem was the F1 trick.

I'm guessing this change, if it stays, will make shield stripping turrets like Tizona essential for bs battles. I'm a bit of a purist though and I want to keep my Nomad turrets - but I think they'll now only be useful for one-sided battles with npcs or trade ships.

I've already started a topic about that, and everyone said to leave shields as is. I weakened them a bit actually for 3rd beta, but I realise that it's still too much.

I guess it's time to return to old topic.

The capital ship weaps still need better weaps. Marslfyer turrets are still the best out there plus the BS shields need better weaps to take down unless you want to have 3 Inferno cannons on your BS.

Yeah, I think all bs turrets and cap ship forward guns need a *big* boost in damage. Maybe missile and cruiser / gb turrets too but not so much.

Dab obviously hasn't been on beta enough

There are *THREE* new weapons, Nova-style... Light Mortar, Mortar and Heavy Mortar.

They all deal INSANE damage to a battleship shield.

There are insane weapons for battleships, however their energy ratio is out of this world. I can't get off more than three, four shots when I have Cerberus turretws mounted on my Battlestar. that's why I'm using Gunboat Turrets.

My Nomad bs runs out of energy in about 5 secs, and thats with its standard turrets :(

Wolfpack its called the BS's immunity to torpedos. Those mortars aren't sufficient to taking a BS down as they will either do very reduced damage or no damage at all.

Wha??? you're joking, cause I took down NPC ships with those..

I need to test that then. Nothing's immune in the game, Dab. not unless the armor is 99999999999999999999999
