Within the dense clouds of the Hokkaido system, an aged relay of a vast array lay dormant. Across the systems spanning Kusari, nodes of this array lay patiently waiting for their day of reactivation: for this day.

A nameless operative had made contact with naval forces pilots and led them to this apparent communications relay so they may use their sizeable archive of codes to reactivate the dated device.

Though apparently a peculiar event: a Tokkeitai operative requesting naval forces help on a technical issue; it was not uncommon for patrols to maintain and occasionally kick-start the scores of satellites that blanketed layers of Kusari deep space. Referring the navy to Operation Dragon Lance, which they saw pertained to reconnaissance via a stable satellite network, the operative assuaged any doubts of the navy.

Their attention was quickly focused elsewhere as dragons appeared in the clouds. As the engagement ensued, the operative made use of the distraction '€“ evading the dragons and with the one remaining pilot, continued the mission. Mako Rujio complied and sent his activation codes, a memory of a bygone age.

With that single act events were set into motion: a pulse rode out far beyond the reaches of inhabited space, touching upon every dormant node in its path and gently wakening those that merely slept.
Systems long-hidden whirred into life, machines shuddered '€“ shedding clouds of dust as they began activating other systems in turn. The deep of space that was thought dead and empty blinked with unseen light as the dread discipline of a unified force once more rose to life.
