This is Adam Spire, acting CEO of Kruger Minerals. It seems there has been a gaping hole left for Kruger to fill. With the absence of Daumann mining ships, Interspace Commerce transports have come to us for the specific purpose of mining for them.
As a long standing between Kruger and Daumann has been a rather hostile one, I wish to alleviate that suspicion now by telling you this.
Omega 7 is dangerous. We have already encountered several Corsair patrols who have attacked our small operations and I can understand Daumann wishing to avoid such conflicts. Kruger is in need of growth and we would like to know if there stands some agreement with you and Interspace Commerce? I cannot find any contract or agreement that binds Interspace Commerce to Daumann solely for mining operations.
Can you clarify this in any way for me?

My name is Dieter Krampf and I am the Manager of the Security Division of Daumann Heavy Construction. We have indeed noticed the growing presence of Interspace vessels inside the Omegas and its mining places. There is neither a contract nor a agreement with Interspace Commerce that would allow them to do that. It is right, we were trying to avoid these areas due to the rising of the pirate activity in the system. But we cannot allow Interspace Commerce to take over our place. Thank you for notifying us about this problem. We will act immediately and send out patrols to look out for these Interspace vessels.
Also, maybe we can think of a cooperation in Omega 7 to prevent the constant rising of pirate attacks. It would make our place more comfortable and safer. What do you think?
I will look forward to your reply, Herr Spire.

Well, that was the way I first suggested to Kruger nearly 3 months ago. We used resources and clout to purchase some heavy armament to defend our shipping and mining operations. When we slowly were able to push back the pirates, we soon found this new found 'power,' too much to let go. I say we because I encouraged Kruger to build a specific defensive force so we would no longer need to rely on the police or Military or even Hunters. It worked, but we apparently didn't stop there. Some used their new found skills to bring to ruin what the pirates and Corsairs couldn't.
I'm fearful of rearming out miners to a degree that they would take all matters into their hands and summarily loose sight of all diplomatic means. There are some by which there is no reasoning with, but as you and I see, the weakening of our military is seen in part to the near death of Kruger and the reduction of Daumann.
It's easy to say we should wipe all traces of illegal pirate activity from Omega 7. It sounds like a just cause, yet it can me a slippery slope. I haven't heard back from the Military about the gunboats we have in storage and I'm not too thrilled bringing in my former friends into the Kruger mix either.
*sighs*
The Renegades are an unruly bunch, no negotiations will be allowed with them. I don't and cannot subscribe to willingly giving them a credit knowing they will just use it to finance their own cause to spread. And when they get too big, all bets are off.
The Corsairs however'¦.I still see a diplomatic approach to them. But it has to be indirect.
Torin Marshal is still in Omega 7 I'll see what support he can provide. I know we have one or two bombers on ready. That's all I'm willing to commit to this for now. We start sending in a star of Gunboats and we'll have battleships attacking us in no time. I'd like to avoid that level of escalation for now.
