Was told ever so "politely" today I am not allowed multiple connections from the same IP. I have 3 computers, and have been running a three ship trade convoy. I can respect that rule. But I couldn't find this rule in the Discovery RP Server rule thread. My point is, why am I being threatened with IP ban on my first warning?
Thanks,
-Adam
P.S. I will from time to time be having company over which we will both (Or all three of us) be playing on the same IP, but I'm sure that is acceptable for you gents.
I have seen no rule against it. Me and my wife play off the same ip. Sometimes I have friends over that play all together off the same connection as well.
I am not sure about trading with more then one ship though.... I would just ask an admin. It might not be against the rules, but could be considered bad form.
I don't really think that the rule is AS important, seeing that we have a 200 player limit... Still, it was made when we had a full server almost all the time, Because its not right to have one person using 3 slots, when there could be 2 more people on the server.
Multiple people on the same IP: Fine.
One person using three slots on the same IP: Not right.
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs
I told you no multiple accounts, and you decided to argue the point ... One player, one comp is the rule
here, written down or not.
Its rather selfish to take up 3 player slots regardless of the player limit ...

Could it be added to rules, please?
Its always been here, true, and I do not in any way disagree, but the point stands, that it isn't in the rules, which are supposed to be the official rules...
Please have it added.

Every so often (once every couple weeks or so), I log on using my brother's computer so I can do a transfer for myself. These transfers usually deal with such a large sum of money or a large number of weapons that I don't think I can trust anyone else to do it (or, no one I trust is online, as it's usually nighttime for people and the number of players online is 50-60). The transfer takes about 3 minutes, tops. Then I log off the transferrer.
I was always told that it was fine as long as you didn't sit around on both characters for an extended period, and as long as the server was moderately empty.

i can see the problem with running multiple trading ships and taking up servers slots.. however i willa dmit i used to do this back in 4.73 but that at that time it wasnt a rule..well if it was i know of alot of peopel that broke it:) but therese been a char wipe since then so...:)no harm done:)
How are you RPing running your own convoy ? is it one tradeship and 2 support fighters? or is it just a way for you to have 15k cargo space on a trip.....
tsk..tsk...
Frankly I am very sure you cant really role play with other people when you are controlling multiple ships...what is it making a formation with one ship and flying one ship ?......can you run if pirated ? no.... if you really like rPing like that, make sure your total cargo does not exceed 5k...fly 3 camaras....sheesh
