would a lane hacker gunship and a freelancer ID be breaking any rules? because i dont want to have to loose 200,000,000 again... At least i can have one of my other favorites and still have fun escorting ect.
All Lane Hacker Gunships are subject to Xoria getting upset if they are abused. Secondly a Freelancer ID is pre-eminently lawful, with occasional illegal stuff on the side. Lane Hacker Gunships are pre-eminently unlawful so a freelancer owning one is dodgy to the point of suspect. A merc who purposefully works for the Lane Hackers mostly might have access to one, I don't believe a Freelancer would have much chance.

depends on your roleplay and char history. - as a freelancer, the rules allow you to fly it. - freelancers are not really lawful - they are affiliated to themselves, thats all. - only their IFF is slightly affiliated to lawfuls, but that shouldn t limit the ID as such.
so if your RP allows or even asks for a hacker warship - i don t see a problem. - NPC freelancers fly the borderworld designs, hackers use BW ships mainly, too ... so its not as far off as trying to use a corsair ship.
so - as long as the RP is good for it - there shouldn t be anyone disallowing you to use this ship, cause the serverrules allow you to use it.

The thing with the Hacker Gunship, is that it was developed by the Hackers for the Hackers. It's not borderworlds, it's Hacker. To obtain one the RP ought to be very good. Not saying it's impossible to do, but it should be significantly better than "I stole it".

bribing isn t enough, i think - its like "i stole it" - getting a warship from a faction involves not only an occasional reputation , but also a more permanent story about it - like ... its not what you have done to get your faction up to get it - but also, what will you do in the future that justifies having it.
will you aid the cause of the hackers? - cause only then, i see you get one. - so whats needed is, whats your plans with it - for all the hackers know, you may run to the navy and let them deconstruct the gunship to learn from what the hackers know.
And for reference, to gain the ability to purchase a Freelancer ID, would mean there is not a chance in
whatever of you being able to land and 'steal' a Hacker gunship. The two reputations are rather opposed
to each other.

Totally with Jinx on this point, I bribed them is not enough. Besides you're going to bribe a faction that can steal your money, before they even talk to you? A bit like spitting in the sea, no appreciable effect.
