New Ship (class?) Idea

Ok, i'm flying around in FL, and suddenly this idea hits me;

Space is just one aspect of this world, right? Sure, it's really the only aspect we have, but there are still planets, right? So, that being said, there would be aircraft, right? So, my mind pulled up an idea; the Assault Craft. It's fast, fairly agile, has some good firepower, and a fairly large cargo hold for it's size. Why? It carries troop squads. In my mind, it goes something like this...
The Assault Craft, generaly used in the air, also have EVA capabilities for space-side bordings and landings. The chain-gun mounted on the chin of the craft can spit out munitions at a very high pace (I'm thinking Chaingun Solaris, since it only has the one) but is most effective fired in bursts. The missile launchers on either side of the craft hit what the chaingun can't, mainly other aircraft (Homing missiles, although it might be a good idea to swap one out with a hard-hitting missile or shield buster missile). The cargo payload carries at most two squads of marines, or one Mech/Tank. All this, coupled with the crafts' speed and agility make it a very dangerous foe to any opponent planet-side. In space, this ship can play escort, hunter, scout, and a variety of other roles (although forward assault is not ideal).

So, equipment as follows...
-3 Gun mounts (One Solaris*Level 10*, two missile*Level 9 or 10*)
-Thruster
-Counter Measure
-Class 10 shield (Gunboat, if at all possible)
-Reactor has enough to power one solaris chain-gun for perhaps 30 to 45 seconds of sustained fire and come back soon afterwards (5-10 seconds max for full recharge)

That about covers it. Essentially, it's going to be an "Angry" freighter ship.
Questions? Comments? Please ask. Hopefully someone can model (Tried and can't to save my life) thsi idea. If not, well I felt like it should go out there anyways.

It would be like a heavily defensive trader without the giant cargo of a train. A balance for traders in Border worlds and Omicrons. And would be good as a support ship to keep fighters busy from attacking the larger ships.

[The Pirate]

Make it like a Snub nosed Fighter/freighter that has a Troop Transport Module attached beneath it and the Ship itself has a Sort of Grappling hooks that hold the Pod onto it

AKA use the Basic idea of the Starship troopers troop Transport (the large one)
