This has been buzzing in my head for a while. I would like to know/ is there a website the describes (for NYC) what it iss ti be "corporate" and the requirements of such. Thing is my department has been for years illustrated to their employees (merchandise planner) that we are "corporate) However despite this, we seem to possess none of the benefits of being "corporate" such as salary pay and being off by default whenever the corporate office is itself closed (sometimes we are sometimes we aren't.)

I don't and have never believe we are "corporate." And simply being ran along by the ones before us who are both under qualified and just grateful to have their high-paying position. I can't describe to you what happens in this "merchandising" department without you actually seeing it but what it looks like is basically a bunch of whites ( I say that more as a social status than race) employing a bunch of long standing (5-10 years) minorities to hire out specific demographics of people for thee sake of taking advantage of them. Actually that's everywhere and not the point but it generally looks that way.

Well, it has a legal definition depending on countries, and the common formalities, such as wearing a tie. By definition, I'm corporate, being the single employee and employer of a corporation. To better think of it, I -am- a corporation. It was needed for tax and billing purposes.

Tough I don't think I'll consider myself 'corporate' until I wear ties and have a desk that isn't full of trash and ashtrays. :)
