Simple as. I'll be back in a couple of hours at which time I'll pull up the hit boxes of the vessels you folk list.

It's exceptionally simple to do and will give me the feeling of somehow being rather important, perhaps, even a hero!

Lord help you if you folks get into a flame fest over this ship and that.

Heh. Think it's easy to make accurate and properly working hitbox? You're funny.

Unless if your hitbox is just a box of twelve polygons.

Ahh. Well then I read it wrong I suppose. My bad, my bad. Sorry. For some reason thought of "pulling" as in "making". Happens.

One thing about the hitboxes, personally I found it to be quite useful if you make hitbox surface transparent over the ship model, allows to see both model and the htibox perfectly, where surfaces intersect and so on. Possible to do with CMP and SUR importers and then changing transparency level on SUR material.

Another thing to keep in mind. When you look at hitboxes taken from vanilla it is important to know if the parts were merged into Root node or not (FLModelTool can optionally do that when rescaling the hitbox). If not then all SUR parts other than main body (Root) do not work at all, because all custom ships here, apart from a very few, made out of single Root part. You can check that with FLModelTool by looking through part groups names.

along with mjolnir's request, add the Bounty hunter gunship to the list, and since you mentioned (on skype) the dessie having a tiny hitbox too, add it to the list.

Ship hitboxes i wanna see:
Bounty hunter Gunship
Bounty hunter destroyer

Treewyrm is it possible to turn the hitbox around? Backwards compared with the model?

Because looking at the catamaran it would help a lot jut to turn the Patriot hitbox around... if believe that over 80% of shots on a dodging target land in the back of a ship.

Stinger has basically the same problem turned around.. no vanilla ship has wings in the front, so I thought that it would be nice to turn dagger hitbox backwards.

*chuckles* No, just put up pictures of hitboxes for people too look at.

Though I'm always willing to learn something new!

That's an interesting question. The BD Battleship, for example, has a hitbox that would fit the model so much better if it were flipped around.

Greyhound twice the width yes...

Stinger.. does it have those (Defender) wings on or not? For me it looks like it doesn't. The test we have done in game didn't show any wings...

Spatial ...hard to find anything that fits to that one yes...

Slipstream ... just 1/3 of the length from front to back... don't know about the wings again... didn't find any during Justice MKI against no shield-type of testing.

Raven Claw ... uhh... basically never aim on the model but always bellow... that's why it's so difficult to SN and if you hit you mostly just shot of guns. Why can't it have something flat as hitbox... say a Dagger?

Liberty BC .. hitting it with SN is always about guessing where to fire.

Kusari Explorer ... uhh..

The two next is a Marauder I guess? Hard to see the model/hitbox difference.. unless it's the hitbox that's all around.. then it's bad.

no idea what the last ship is.

last is a train, second last is a marauder, thats what gezz told me on skype. no clue what the third last one is though

EDIT: sheesh. now he says summat else on skype. ill just wait for him to say what they are -.-
