the concept is good. - it has some sort of the capship feeling.-
the bridge section is great. - it has the hammerhead feeling while looking very large. the tail section is good, too. - very barracuda like ... and its a logical "upgrade" for capital ships, too - to add the little sidewings to the cruiser / battlecruiser / battleship version.
well, there is the inevitable "but".....
looking at the front of the ship - it has little room for turrets, - logical turrets. BHG ships can shoot every turret to the front ( well, ever ship i used .. destroyer / battlecruiser .... don t know about the battleship ) - on that model, there d be room for maybe 2 turrets on the hunchback-like top and 2 on the chin - well, maybe 2 each on the wings.... allright, there IS room.
enough complaints. - its a great concept. very FLish. a few details here and there - but not many, and its perfect. this design looks "modern" - so there is not too much stuff sticking out.
edit: you know - when you do one of them, you are bound to do the rest, too. - that means destroyer, battlecruiser, battleship ( and prolly gunship ) .. so better have an idea for each of them:D

i figured i'd do them all but i don't think they'll have a full fleet of ships. what do they have now, battleship, destroyer, & gunship?
the idea is to replace the star wars models with something more fitting.
i'm glad you like it, it's a somewhat simple design which shouldn't take long to make. i plan for this one to be the Destroyer (small like the Kusari one) and then i'll use the same design scheme, lengthen it, add some fins, probably a docking bay, and overall double it's size for the battleship.
simple designs are usually superior to complex ones. - you don t become tired too quickly of the more simple ones. - but its harder to make a simple, yet fitting design. - one tends to add stuff here and there. mind that depends on the faction.
i think that for example spikes and stuff fit to corsair designs - but BHG ships are rather plain. - they have very small engines, a large but not too sophisticated or decorated cockpit and 2 very basic fins. - thats it.
when you compare them to the liberty or the kusari ships, the BHG ones are allmost only basic concepts. - there is no ornament on them, no wing that doesn t need to be there etc.
i think the star wars corellian corvette models do actually fit the roll of the BHG, they do come with too much stereotypes - but if you manage to make the ship really the way that drawing shows, - it would be one of the best fitting concepts possible for the BHG, i think.
just like i said - be careful with the turret hardpoints. - they can ruin an otherwise perfect model. ( like the BHG gunship )
and - like other extreme replacements - the shape makes the stats. - this ship looks lighter and much more agile than the current ones. - so a simple replace and copy / paste of stats wouldn t be logical. - however, i think people are not too happy about the BHG trend to get superior agile and small ships ( bhg bomber / bhg gs )
It's actually a very nice start. Stretched and sectioned Piranha.
But...(you're right jinx, always a but...)
Perhaps, for turret's sake, you could widen the front fuselage about 50% more than it is now, and instead of one downward wingspar, make two roughly 15 degrees from vertical. This way I think it would look more like a cruiser and less like a chop-shopped piranha on steroids. Otherwise I like the enthusiasm of getting the SW ships out.
