My english may be weak but I want to confirm something about insults. (I don't want to get a ban or be fined again:D)

Have I the right to say on the server "Let's kick some Hessian asses" or "Some GC bitches are incoming" as a corsair (they are "in love" with Hessians and GC:D) ?

It's normally RPrelated but I want to be sure:)I was already fined 1time, it's really not fun:angry2:!

i would say it is allowed, BUT only in groupchat... System chat should be clear of ALL POSSIBLE insults, even the "asses" and "bitches".

I find it amazing that i still havent been fined for my use of language, since i am one of those people who actually DOES swear all day long... against everyone and everything....

Stay clear of ANY swears in system chat. Also recommended to avoid them in group/private chats, but it's okay if the person who you're talking to doesn't care (example: talking OOC to a friend about what happened in school today involving indecent girls).

Replace "ass" with "butt" and it's fine. "I'm gonna kick your butt once I find you." or "Let's go kick some Xeno butts!" are acceptable.

i daresay any 11 years old uses such terms on a daily base - and its rather 40 year olds getting offended by such.... but since "someone" might get offended - yea, don t use them, even if i don t consider them offending.

oh, and you must also not use **** - i think there have been sanctions where people got sanctioned for putting **** into their system chat, and left it out to the imagination of the others.

so, since someone allways gets offended... just say "lets politely make these hessians lifes a little more difficult, if it does not trouble you, good sirs" and "there are some GC women incoming, who are of course equal to male pilots and players".

ok, i consider that swaring rule a bit strange. - people get insulted and flamed on the forum but nothing happens and others say some "bad" word in system chat and are locked out for 30 days. - i have yet to come past an insult in the I-net that is worth a 30 days ban.

a single day in a highschool class of any grade would open someones eyes about what children really consider swearwords and what they consider normal.

as an Ex-Admin i would have not sanctioned you for those comments, but asked you to do in private not public.

Jinx you are completely right about the language in high schools....

I should know I got to one 5 out of 7 days a week and there a lot of "words" which would make any one over 40 go pale...


Oh and then there is those disgusting ear extender things.

But its all ways polite to watch what you say in such a large community because there are players all over the world from different cultures and you would be surprised what some cultures that consider as insulting.

Like never give an Arab something with you left hand, it is one of the biggest insults ever.

It requires maturity to understand the depravity involved with the use of foul language (and I don't mean pigeons).

That is why the young are so cavalier about a lot of things that adults consider reprehensible.

Also, quantity is not a logical justification for anything. Theft happens a lot also, but it's still wrong. Cursing causes a depraved attitude in your own mind, and contributes to it in the mind of those who hear it. It is the verbal equivalent of pornography, which takes something holy and perverts it into something selfish and despicable. The words themselves are just sound waves, but the intent behind them is to create something unwholesome and harmful, and that is why cursing is wrong. That is why you are motivated to curse when you are experiencing negative emotions instead of positive emotions. You wouldn't hear a bride curse during the joy of her wedding ceremony, now would you? And if you did, a normal conscience would see something wrong in it.

Additionally, by cursing, you are forcing someone else to experience the negativity of your own emotions, and you don't have the moral right to do that, anymore than you have the moral right to insult someone's mother.
