My name is Ruud. That is both my nick name as my real name. Why no nick name? Various reasons but most probably because I never found one that I liked :)
I don't play many computer games. The ones I still play from time to time: Doom, Hexen, Heretics, Duke Nukem 3D, Command & Conquer, Battlefield 1942 and FreeLancer. Am I a good player, I don't know. One day I set up a LAN play for BF 1942 and my then 15 year old son hit me so many times and so hard I still don't know what excatly happened. Quite a frustrating day then :( But OTOH I'm much better in C&C :)
After playing FL some years ago I searched the Internet for its sequel (that never came). Instead I found some mods. One of them was the Star Trek mod. I remember hours of trading to collect the money so I could buy one!.
Some month ago I decided to play again to find out I accidently deleted all mods. A typical example how a misfortune can turn into luck: looking for mods I ran into Discovery!
What do I want to do here? I think I will stay a freelancer to begin with and decide during that time what faction I will join. That is, if they want me :)
About myself: I'm 53 years young, used to be a naval officer on submarines and fregates (a possible advantage here?) and I'm now an engineer in computer electronics. Hobbies: old computers (mainly Commodore) and my two old motorbikes: Jawa 350 (1975) and Moto Guzzi V50-III NATO (1985, original army bike). Beside that I have a lovely Polish wife and two sons.
And now up to the HELP section because I have a major problem: I haven't any idea yet how to log on to the server ???

I'm pretty sure, that once you've played a bit, understood the main server rules and got a rough view of Sirius history and roleplay on the server, every faction would take you as new member.

You just have to install the original Freelancer and the mod itself afterwards. Then, when entering the muliplayer server list, it should show up.
Anyhow, enjoy your stay, and most important of all: HAVE FUN!:yahoo:
