As you all know, the Corsair shieldbusters higher than a Borocco don't have a weapon effect. Can we please add some weapon effects for them? It's hard to dodge them if you can't see them. If you're fighting with them...well, it would be better if we could see where it was going.

Is this in the right thread? If not, can someone please move it?

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

They don't have weapon effects? How odd.

We should definitely add them, then.

Actually they do have effects but no trails of the projectile being sent. Not sure whether that is direly needed or not though.

When you fire, you see a red flash at the end of the blaster on your ship, but you don't see it flying through space. I fired one against an asteroid. The only way you know it impacts is that there's a small split-second white flash.

Still, it definitely needs weapon effects.

well it's actually much harder to aim them than to dodge them...

but it was this way since vanilla... so I don't see any particular reason to give them one..

but that is mean as advantage of tizonas and coladas... invisible projectiles.... so why take it away ? people who use them some time know how aim with them. and people fho fight again them, have harder job.

so pls let something rom corsair equipment different as all other weapons. not only another trogner debilitator ....

I'm all for giving high level weapons the exact same effects as their lower level equivalents. It gets boring when all class-9s have pretty much the same look...

Oh yeah, its been brought up before, but Corsairs could use a class 8 shieldbuster.

Oh please DON'T add effects (and they are visible if you look). Half my strategy with them is to open up and hit before the other player realizes I am striking him.

It is psychologically very disconcerting to your enemy when suddenly he sees some flashes and his shields vanish.

This is a tactical advantage--there are other shield guns to use for those who want them.

It takes practice to learn to aim them but the advantage is wonderful.

My favorite ship is an armored transport with seven tizzona turrets and two excalibur's. I am always catching my enemies by surprise. Hate to see that ruined so we could just see pretty sparklies or help players who can't aim.

nah probably not the tizona del cids I've known since my days on the RAW server (now either shutdown or almost empty) and I didn't have a problem with them their pretty fine to me.

Ships

I think they should remain with no visible projectile. First of all, it's been that way for a while, and the server generally doesn't mind about the "disadvantage".
Second, the Corsair shield busters do a lot of damage already. If you know how to aim them - which is pretty easy, I learned enough in 2 days on a Praetorian - then you can use their high shield damage effectively. It's a downside compared to Debilitators, but imagine fighting a bomber with projectile Coladas. He'll be able to easily hit you and supernova you even faster than normal.

It's a balance thing for them to have no projectile. It also gives them a sense of uniqueness, compared to other shield busters. I would like to see more shield busters added though, like a Pirate generic one. I hate the debilitator projectile on my unlawfuls, so a nice red shot would look good (same stats).
