I'd really like to have a new paint for my backgrounds.
I've already tried Hugos, but they lower my fps by almost 50%, since they're in HD. I'd like to run them on my netbook, so I'd prefer any backgrounds in the original Freelancer size. But I could resize them by myself too.
So what background (from what mod), do you prefer to play with?

Thanks in advance.
iv'e been talking with cannon, and he would love to have new starspheres for FL, so if anyone knows how i can edit those, then ill be taking a look at it....
i just dunno how the heck i can open those files in photoshop/get them into photoshop
Since there are ready for use one and free given with Autor ready to make changes/new ones. I see no reason to make new: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...;hl=starspheres
Just replace the vanilla ones with those.
However since the last anti-cheat changes I does not use them- I am not sure if I am allowed or not.
None of the admins also said anything about it.
About your netbook issues- well that are your personal issues, not mod related ones.
I cannot see why one should care that you use not proper hardware, especially when FL is so damn light to run.

I know, it's a personal issue. That's why I've asked for backgrounds in the original vanilla Freelancer size. And not Huno's HD ones.
Just use the DDS version it should be lighter. Also can you confirm that the autobann does not catch you if you use them?

wouldnt surpise me, messing with starspheres can apparently give you some very very nice "advantages"... atleast that i can see from the tutorials ive been reading so far

Actually, nothing is allowed. But I've seen quite a few people, using custom stuff, like starspheres, huds and aiming points. It always has been tolerated.
Same thing for the awesome "realistic lightning" mod. Everything gets you auto-banned these days.
I guess, I'll have to reinstall my Disco, since it still includes all the custom stuff from .84 days.
http://sirius-terror-elite.de/download.php?view.1 ~ Viper This item is no longer compatible with the Discovery GC server as of update 6. Use of this mod while connected to the Discovery GC server will likely result in ban by anticheat. The mod can be used in single player or while connected to other severs using the Discovery mod at the discretion of the server operator. -Gheis
I think, it's just this server. Blame the cheaters.

[00:06:46] cannonnz: No.
[00:08:15] Narcotic: Will it work in future again? Or is it intented to not work?
[00:08:39] cannonnz: It'll never work unfortunately.
[00:08:58 | Edited 00:09:06] cannonnz: It's all part of increasingly strict anticheat due to a bit of a plague of cheaters.
