I've seen lots of people say "Xfire this...Xfire that..."
What is it and how does it help your RP / gaming experience?
Do you have it running all the time?
Is it a computer resource hog?
Can you run Skype and Xfire at the same time while playing freelancer?
(Insert other questions that I dont know to ask yet)?

It's a lot of things.

primarily, it's a program you run in the background on your computer that shows other Xfire Users what game you're playing, how long you've been playing it, etc.

I used to use it when I played battlefield 1942 a lot... but I prefer to keep things simple, and unnecessary programs annoy the crap outta me.

It's good to check whether the server is up and whether your fiends are on. That's about it really.:)

It's great when your friends spam you "Lets LAN DoTA." while you're fighting 2 or more transports in a VHF!

But, basically, unless your real life friends have it, it's pretty much useless....
