So, I like to scan NPCs, but when I see no ID I just feel like yelling "SANCTION!", so why don't we make it so that NPCs carry their faction IDs? Would dropping them be a problem?

Question is why, when they are always acting like the faction they should, not like players:P

It would be nice to see. You never know, it might even encourage players to choose an NPC faction rather than using the generic IDs so much.

I like this. Then we make hostile IDs "contraband" if you can do that with equippable items (to get NPCs to attack people anyway if their rep is bad), or if its possible make them not scan you if you have a certain ID. Like, say, the resident police or navy, or friendly pirates.

That would be awesome, and fix stuff like Deshima Station. That place is MESSED UP.

Well for that purpose IDs will be brilliant, Im just not sure if it is possible, but for that we have to ask admins i guess.

If NCPS had IDs with them it would make it the ID policy hard to enforce. All the freelancers have to do is kill NPCs. Plus what would you do with it you cannot carry more than one and you can't fly around without one hoping to find NPC to kill.

So it's pointless.

Yes, because it's expected of the character to have proper reputation to a faction in order to carry an specific ID. It's an effort towards having players keep a reasonable enough rep sheet to their characters. True, the guy can still buy the ID and then mess it all up. Anyway, it's one thing.

Also, I'm of the opinion that NPCs are well within RP at all times not to need an ID to say who they are. If we all could be trusted to do the same, we wouldn't need them also.

i like this, as it would make it so much better when carrying pirate NPCs etc.
