Hello.

Today I installed ATI Radeon HD 3450 and I have major issues now.

1. The refresh rate of the card is very slow. When I browse internet, this forum for example or just simple google.com, then I want to scroll down the page reloads before my eyes. When I had my old video card it was going up and down smoothly.

2. I can not run Freelancer. When I try, the screen flickers and then either gives me an error (some recovery console offers to send in a report) or the screen goes black, then an option screen appears, but i can't move my mouse, then it goes blank and appears again

Help me to troubleshoot this.

Thanks.

I have resolved the refresh rate issue, but I still can not run Freelancer. The splash screen loads, after a while monitor goes blank and the game crashes. Perhaps there are some options i need to turn off in the ATI Control Center?

I suspect your video driver isn't installed or is malfunctioning (sluggish refresh on IE is a clear sign the OS reverted to standard XGA drivers). Reinstall the Catalyst drivers.

Got your pm.

I would uninstall the video drivers, reboot the PC, then re-install the video drivers and ONLY the drivers, as Aeternus said.

I personally don't use the ATi Control Center, I use ATi Tray Tools to control my video card and there haven't been any problems with it.

You can also get 'optimized' drivers for both ATi and Nvidia card from this site, although I use the basic 'reference' drivers from Ati.
