Tag's information and RP

Hi there,

My name is Pedro, i've 22 years old and i live in Portugal.
First of all i would like to let you know, that i haven't played FL in years. Back in that time, even the online gaming wasn't completly RP.
I've decided to install again freelancer and discovery mod. I was quite happy to find out that the game is still played today.
So after installing the mod, i've found this server to be perfect. Although, i'm still trying to learn as much as i can about the RP played here. I've created a char with my usual nickname and with my clan tag before... But after reading many posts, i've realized that tags are used to identify the faction that the char belongs to.

My question is, do i really need to create a new char? Is there any way to change the nickname? And let's imagine that after some hours playing online, i've decided to join a faction. How do i change the tag? Do i always need to create a char with the tag on the beggining of the name?

Sorry for all this questions but im really confused...

A name change could take a long while to process.

If you are in a hurry for it I would recommend starting a new character if you join a faction. With a money transfer from one ship to another it doesnt take more than a few hours to get set up.

Also just as a general recommendation I wouldnt use a clan tag in your name if your clan doesnt exist here on Discovery. It makes it look like you are part of a group already and it might make faction folks less likely to recruit you.
