Somebody was telling me about the possibility of controlling more than one character at once in-game and today I saw this with my own eyes, at least that's how it looked. I won't go into detail (not that I know exactly how to do it, but I kind of see how it works), I actually don't want to publicise it, but I do want to know whether or not this is legal.
Well that is how I feel about it, I would not like to be attacked by four ships controlled by one player. I didn't think about the trading aspect, but that is also a very good point.
It'd be hard to control four ships so tightly together that their turrets all aim at the same spot. From formation you'd aim with the mouse and get guns firing in four different directions. Plus lots of ramming and bumping if the ships are large enough or don't know how to avoid asteroids.
It would be kinda hard to be in a dogfight with 4 ships at one time unless you were some kinda alien with 8 arms and 12 eyes.. but yea it seams to me that it would be against the rules.
There are four CSVs for a single upcoming rp event and logged them on when server traffic was down to make sure they don't get deleted for non-play (I fix pc's for a living so I can connect a few on occasion). All but one sat parked (the one I actually flew).
When traffic started to pick up I logged them off but couldn't resist running them one time through Manhattan in formation (my bad) on the way out just for the reaction (the Xeno seeing four Junkers and going, "Whaa...?!" was priceless).
There is no way I could "fight them" (good grief, I'd lose my mind) and they weren't trading anything--basic noob CSVs.
So apologies--won't happen again and kids, don't try this at home!

Yeah, you can conduct your own transfers.. just don't keep the character on the server longer than you need to, and try to do it when the number of players on the server is down. I often do my own transfers when I am transferring a large number of items/a large amount of credits.
