Established in 788 by former smuggler and pirate Nathan Black, Azure Line Shipping is a Bretonian company focusing on the delivery of civilian products - consumer goods, food, and medicine. In 813, Nathan's son Evan began working for the company, and inherited its largest transport, Cerulean from his father. In 816, Evan took over the business and his father went into semi-retirement, though he still flies his old pirate fighter Black Wind as an ALS escort.
Until the Bretonia-Kusari war, Azure Line Shipping made deliveries to Liberty, Kusari, Rheinland, and within Bretonia for companies that couldn't spare their own transports or didn't want to risk piracy. More recently, the Liberty-Rheinland embargo opened up a profitable passenger transportation market, and a wealthy trader from New York named Jacob Pantangolli helped ALS invest in that market, establishing their passenger division.
Azure Line Shipping has no space stations of its own, but maintains a headquarters on New London.
In addition to their other services, Azure Line Shipping offers security services to other traders when ALS has spare pilots. They charge a standard fee of a hundred thousand credits up front, plus ten percent of the earnings after each leg of the trade run, though this can be negotiated. This is also the standard rate that ALS pays escorts, whether they're ALS pilots or mercenaries.

The OOC Bit
Okay, better explain why I'm doing this. When I initially started Azure Line Shipping, it was little more than a backstory explanation for how Evan got his transport and where Blake went after leaving the BPA. But then three of my friends started playing and wanted to join. Additionally, lately I've gotten a few questions regarding ALS.
As we have no ties to any NPC factions, I have no intention to make ALS official.
This isn't quite an imported clan. While all of us have played games together before, we didn't have any predefined RP plans when we came here, nor did I intend for us to all end up joining up together. Better than more OORP traders floating around, though - you'll note that our cargo list doesn't allow for either the Boron/Beryllium run or the Diamond/Niobium run.
Okaaay... I fully expect some complaining about this, but whatever. Constructive feedback appreciated.
wouldent it be easier for you to have the Viper instead of the Ravens Talon? since the Talon is sold in O-49 wheras the Viper is sold on Frestadt which is much easier to get too

Good point. Honestly, that hadn't occurred to me mainly because I already have had both Vipers. :laugh:RT's probably staying (we employ some former pirates, and the infocard tells me it's a ship they might already have experience in), but I could accept adding Vipers. I'll wait for some other comments about that.
Besides, the "easy to get to" argument should eliminate the Eagle, that's way out in Omicron Theta. :P

Maybe not exactly neutral - I didn't yet establish any concrete diplomacy yet. Not as easy when you don't have an NPC faction to base it on. There's some unfriendliness there, of course, but we're traders, not soldiers. It's not our war, and it's a war that we simply want ended as fast as possible, a war we think never should've been started.
And yeah, I noticed the similarities to Gateway. Unintentional, but shouldn't really be a problem. Convoys could definitely be arranged.
Don't forget to add me to the roster, pulled an all-nighter to get that Large Transport...
EDIT: make that a Percheron, managed to get that towards the evening after.
