hi guys, i have an idea for a really good game, that would be similar to freelancer in some ways but different in others. Atm i am only 13 so can't really make this game, so i'm just going to post my ideas for it here and see if you like them, and give me some ideas to help it (like faction names, can't think of any).
Basicly the story line is that the human race found a race of peaceful aliens (don't have name yet), and instantly they were intergrated as one, there were even cross breeds between humans and the aliens. Anyway, a faction on the edge of the Milky Way known as the Order of the Human Race (better name needed, only using this name for you to understand basic idea). There mission was to keep the human race alive without the interfierance of these aliens. Eventually they were driven out of the Milky Way by the aliens (without the rest of the humans knowing) and went to an un-inhabited Galaxy and started again away from the aliens.
Meanwhile, the aliens are slowly taking over the human posts in the human government, and moving in to rid the Milky Way of humans, so they can live without there war-like ways. The aliens attack the humans of the Milky Way, and by the time they try and defend, it was far to late. The human race in the Milky Way was destroyed by the aliens, but a ship escaped the slaughter. The ship drifted for thousands of years in empty space (it's hyperdrive engine and normal engines were destroyed in the escape, along with most primary systems), it's crew long dead, until it reached the galaxy where the Order of Human Race (obviously not called that then) went.
When The Order of the Human Race reached the un-inhabited galaxy, the five founders of the faction created five nations. two of those nations collapsed, and there territory was quickly taken by either the other houses or by pirates formed by rebels in the Order. Many religions were formed, and countless planets were collonised and occupated, but there was still so much to explore, when the ship reached the galaxy, and crashed on planet Nylon (need better name aswell). The humans explored it, until they recieved a message sent thousands of years ago for the ship to pick up, "They are coming."
And you must help in the defence of the galaxy, after the aliens have had thousands of years to build up a massive army to invade.
OK, basicly you are a mercenary looking for work from the police in the sector your in (again, need names) and decide to work for the police. You do some missions with them against some different pirate factions (again, need names) until in one mission your with the police and an alien scout is spotted. After that mssion reports come in of alien scouts constantly getting seen all across the galaxy, and thats when they find the ship with the message.
I need loads of names and other things, but what do you guys think?? it's a space game but you can do things by walking around, even do missions on the ground. In this game you could fly in the atmosphere in planets and there be hundreds of different bases on one planet, with lots of factions.
Hope you like the idea:D, i'm only 13 so give me some credit for this, got nothing better to do, but i want to design games when i'm older.

strangly sounds like Freelancer but without the humans fighting each other but yeah kudos for thinking of a new game heh not many space games around nowdays:)
anyway this could help with thinking of a alien name just link them up until you get one that you like the sound of:) you could also possibly base them off our own Mythology such as the Egyption/Greek/Norse gods (ala like Stargate) coming to take back what they once had or something
Pirates: what sort of pirate factions would you want to base them off? here are alot of "templates" that you could implement from real life (for example Gaians are hippies from the 60/70's of England, Molly's are sort-of like the IRA i presume, Outcasts/Corsirs is two different sides of the Mafia (drugs and smuggling) etc
i would also suggest some sort of all-house military or police, again taking from real life temples such as NATO or the UN
Just found one that i quite like, Reghghecheo (i think it's Reg-gek-eo), is that any good as an alien race name?
For pirates, well maybe there could be a pirate faction that specialises in ransom demands, like kidnapping important scientists or political leaders and missions for the pirates involve ground missions to get past the persons security and kidnap him/her, or maybe space fights to get an escape pod, because i saw a picture on a thread in the discovery forums of a griffin flying in a planets atmosphere, so why not make loads of bases on one planet belonging to different factions, like (using freelancer names here) maybe on planet Manhattan a small island owned by Rhienland, like in the program Jericho on the last episode of the first series there is a building owned by the Texans in the Cheyenne area, kind of like that. Or different religions own islands or sections of islands and perform there religious things, like i was thinking that there be a huge part of religious cults in the games story, like a huge religous cult believes the aliens (Reghghecheo) are there gods and that when the aliens come into the galaxy and start there invasion that it is the time of apocalypse for all that do not believe, and so join the aliens fight as the Order of the Reghghecheon followers, kind of like in stargate with the Gou'ald or the Ori.
